As lines,so loves oblique,may well

Themselves in every angle greet:

But ours,so trully parallel,

Though infinite,can never meet.

‘’The Definiton of Love’’

Andrew Marvell

Çizgiler gibi,aşkın eğimi,iyi olabilir

Birbirlerini her bir açıda karşılayabilir:

Fakat bizimki,öylesine düzgün bir paralel ki,

Sonsuz bile olsa,hiçbir zaman buluşmayabilir.

Rails lenghten parallelly; they are always close to each other but never end meeting at
the same point. Marvell’s poem The Definition of Love awakens this pessimistic feeling with
this stanza. Poet compares his love here with other loves which have many oppurtinities and
likens his never ending love to parallel lines which can not meet.Although they love each
other till the end, they can not join each other’s lives because of fate.Actually the thing which
makes a love perfect is sometimes it’s impossibility of becoming together.
