ACADEMIC SKILLS

Course objectives
❑Help students in developing essential academic and study-related skills for
higher education study, and lifelong learning.
❑Equipping students with a theoretical guide and practical activities to
acquire academic skills like reading skills, test taking, writing,
presentation, computer using, team working.
❑Preparing students for their future career in the service industry/
tertiary sector.
Learning outcomes
❑Have a better understanding of note-taking skill, examination techniques and
various reading skills, which facilitates the study efficiency
❑Understand the format and main rules in writing essays, reports; Demonstrate and
improve effective written communication
❑Know the structure of a presentation, the principles to have a good presentation
and the process to prepare for a presentation.; Create an effective presentation
using PowerPoint; Apply the delivery techniques; Handle abandon questions and
deal with anxiety in presenting.
❑Master several skills in Microsoft office software, apply these skills in academic
activities such as : Writing essay and report, presenting, creating charts, data
sheet…
❑Know how to work efficiently as a group
