On the other hand, Rich Dad was the father of Kiyosaki’s best friend. He had a similar
work ethic to Kiyosaki’s real dad, but with a twist. Rich Dad believed in financial
education, learning how money works, and understanding how to make money work for
you. Although he was an eighth-grade dropout, Rich Dad eventually became a millionaire
by using money to work for him.
The book is written from Kiyosaki’s perspective of how Rich Dad went about making
money and the mistakes that Poor Dad made. The first 6 chapters of Rich Dad Poor Dad
discuss the 6 lessons that Kiyosaki learned from his Rich Dad. The goal of Rich Dad
Poor Dad is to motivate you to develop your own unique path to financial freedom.
The book provides an excellent framework for creating your own objectives to build
wealth by investing in real estate. It was first published in 1997. The book has been

In recent times, part-time jobs have taken a new form and meaning. Employers are
hiring people for remote positions. Hence, teenagers may find opportunities in this
trend. Online part time jobs can be great options for making money as a teen because
they do not require transportation and they have a flexible schedule.
Children as young as six are going online to make money, whether as an influencer
on social media, selling clothes on eBay, gaming, or trading the markets. 16-year-old
Woody Harrison started by buying limited edition trainers to resell online, on sites like
eBay and also Depop. He said, "I took some of the money I made selling clothes,
trainers across Depop and other re-selling platforms and then invested that into
various bitcoins. That was a RM 1 000 investment and over the last two years I’ve
watched that grow." That is now worth more than RM 5,000, which he wants to invest
in his growing clothing business.
It is not just teenage entrepreneurs. Much younger children are also looking to make
money online. Naomi Castelo, is an influencer. She is paid to feature and review
products on her Instagram and YouTube channels, from clothes, to toys to
restaurants, and can earn more than RM 500 a post. The only difference is, she's 10
years old, and often appears in videos with her mum, Isa. It all started when Naomi
saw other children having YouTube channels. She wanted to try it too. Now, she
collaborates with popular brand names to promote their products. Naomi has a
favourite, which is modelling for a certain brand. Naomi does this together with her
mother, Isa. Isa will only allow Naomi to do a part-time job if she thinks it is suitable
and does not take up too much of Naomi’s time. Isa feels that it is fine for Naomi to do
part time work as she enjoys doing it. Isa added that the money that Naomi earns
goes to her university fund. Naomi likes it because it is her dream to have her own
brand and become a fashion designer when she grows up.
Naomi and Woody are examples of young people whose part-time work, earn them
lots of money.

The first attempt to build a railway line in Malaysia dates back the second half of the
Nineteenth Century. In 1869 construction began on a 32 km stretch of track between
Johor Bahru and Gurung Pulai, but it was not completed. The next attempt to build a
railway commenced in 1881. The line ran 12 km between the river port of Sapetang to
Taiping. It took 4 years to get this project up and running with the first train service in
Malaysia arrived at Taiping Railway station on the 1st June 1885. The main objective
was to transport tin. From a humble beginning, Malaysia now has a railway network of
over 1,800 km of track in West Malaysia, a 134 km track in Sabah, East Malaysia.
Moving forward lighter rail transport was launched in 1996 to shuttle people swiftly in
the Klang Valley. This light rail transit (LRT) was named Sistem Transit Aliran Ringan.
It spanned over 17 km with 25 stop stations from Sentul Timur, Ampang and Sri
Petaling.
The development of the rail system in Malaysia continues with upcoming projects
such as the LRT3, MRT3, and the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) and the KL-Singapore
High-Speed Rail (HSR). This will stretch our country’s rail tracks over 3,000km,
showcasing the tremendous transformation especially looking back to where we
started in 1869. The rail system is crucial to the growth of the economy, as well as the
prosperity of the people utilising it as through seamless connectivity, economic and
societal benefits will flourish.

World traveling and exploring new places is incredibly exciting, and it doesn’t stop
there. When you arrive at the destination, you will want to explore even more – and
the unique modes of transport found around the world can really add to this
experience. You may get to use the double-decker Dubai Trolley in Dubai or the tuk-
tuks in Thailand, Reindeer sleds in Finland, or even the high-speed Bullet Train in
Japan and a dog sled transportation service in Alaska.
Let’s start with Cuba. They have the Coco Taxi. It is shaped like a hollowed-out
coconut. Coco Taxis are commonly found in its capital Havana. There are two types of
Coco Taxi. There are yellow and black. The yellow taxis are for tourists, while the
black is used by the locals. Coco Taxis are faster and cheaper than taking other types
of taxis.
The Filipinos have a different mode of transportation to travel around the country. It is
known as Habal-Habal. It is an improvised motorcycle that carries up to 10 people at
any one time. The Habal-Habal is a popular way of travelling to remote villages with
rough and narrow roads. It is also used to transport people and goods.
Dubai has the world’s first hydrogen powered double-decker street trolley tram. It is
also the world’s first hop-on, hop-off electric powered transit system for Downtown
Dubai. There are plans to increase it to span 7 km across the entire breadth of the
500-acre downtown.
Japan’s main island of Honshu and Kyusu are served by a network of high-speed train
lines that connect Tokyo with most of the country’s major cities. Otherwise known as
Bullet Train, these trains run at a speed of 320 km/hr.
There are unique means of transportation to be found all over the world, and it all
adds to the culture and experience of each location. These modes of transportation
make cars, buses and even airplanes look rather dull.

Competitors spend the night in communal goats-hair Berber tents with no
sides protecting you from the desert winds and it is very hot. It reportedly gets

It was June 2018, a group of 12 boys from a Thai soccer team and their coach
decided to explore the nearby Tham Luang cave after soccer practice. Tham Luang
cave is one of Thailand’s longest cave.
The boys, ages 11 through 16, and their coach, 25, waded into the waters and began
exploring the cave. There was a flash flood and it pushed them deeper into the cave.
Eventually, they reached an elevated platform four kilometres into the cave. The flood
filled the twisted cave system with water, trapping the boys for 17 days. For the first
nine days, they had no food, and relied on dripping stalactites for water.
When they realized that they were trapped, the boys took turns digging a 16-foot hole
into the cave wall, hoping to find a way out. They meditated to save energy and to
avoid thinking about food. Then, British divers who had set out from the cave’s
entrance managed to locate the lost boys.
The success of the British divers to locate the boys was not the end. The boys had to
be brought out of the cave. Then the Thai Navy Seals entered the cave to help and
accompanied the boys as rescuers planned how to extricate them safely. Over the
course of a three-day mission, divers retrieved each player and their coach.
The arduous journey to the surface required each boy to wear a full-face diving mask,
in between two divers, and swim for hours through turns and exceedingly tight
squeezes. Thanks to the efforts of Thai Navy Seals and the international diving
community, all the boys survived. Tragically, one former Thai Navy Seal died in
the rescue effort.

For each question, write your answer in the space provided on your answer sheet.
Storm Chasers
When we hear thunder or lightning, we would usually run straight home and stay
indoors. However, there are people who just do the opposite. There are people who
head towards a storm when they see one. They have a heart of steel and usually go
after a more dangerous storm, which are tornadoes and hurricanes. This group of
people are known as storm chasers.
Storm chasers are usually scientists who study about the weather and strive to learn
more about these storms, so they can understand how it works. Tornadoes and
hurricanes can be so deadly, especially tornadoes, they often occur with very little
warning.
The more storm chasers understand about storms, the more they can work on
developing ways to predict when storms will appear and how they will behave. This
information will hopefully one day allow weather forecasters to provide people with
earlier, more accurate warnings, so that people can evacuate areas where bad storms
are expected. In doing so, help to save lives and properties.
Storm chasing is not as exciting as it sounds. It is hard work. It involves long hours of
driving, observing and waiting for storms to develop. Many different circumstances have
to occur to allow storm chasers to find a developing storm and get into its path.
Once in the path of the storm, storm chasers place scientific equipment that they hope
will be picked up by the tornado. Then they retreat as quickly as possible to a safe place.
If the storm picks up the equipment, the scientists can use the data it records to better
understand what happens inside these dangerous storms.
Storm chasers use a special vehicle that can withstand the strength of a tornado. An
example is the Tornado Intercept Vehicle 2 (TIV2). It weighs about 8 tons and has other
special features that would make it hard — but not impossible! — for a tornado to lift it
off the ground.
Being a storm chaser is a dangerous job. There are instances where storm chasers get
hurt or even killed because they were unable to get to a safe place quick enough. It is
job for professional weather experts and not amateurs.

Questions 35 to 40
You are going to read about Free Diving.
Six sentences have been removed from the text. Choose from the sentences (A -H)
to fill in each gap (35 to 40). There are two extra sentences which you do not need
to use. For each question, write your answer in the space provided on your answer
sheet.
For each of the question, shade the correct answer (A-D) on your answer sheet.
Free Diving
Free diving refers to diving into the deep depth of water in one breadth, without the
use of any breathing equipment. Free divers use inward control to descend into the ocean
while holding their breath until they resurface. 35 All humans share something in
common. We are equipped with the Mammalian dive reflex, just like our aquatic friends the
dolphins and seals. When our face comes into contact with water, our heart rate will slow
down. 36 Our body already knows how to hold its breath!
The Bajau people are among the most accomplished free divers in the world. 37
The Bajau have lived at sea for more than 1,000 years, on small houseboats that float
in the waters off Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. 38 They can also
remain underwater for as long as 13 minutes. 39 They also have larger spleen
as compared to others. 40 Research shows that most mammals with great diving
abilities have a proportionally larger spleen. As such it would be interesting to see the Bajau
dominate the free diving sports in the same way the Kenyan and Ethiopian athletes
dominate middles and long-distance running.

Dear Robert,
How are you? I am happy to receive your letter. I am glad that you have your
own room. You have also asked for advice regarding making friends. You might
want to start making friends with your classmates. Give a genuine smile and start a
conversation about your favourite pastime. Another thing is to look for people who sit
alone during recess. Maybe you can pick up a new hobby to make new friends.

Accept any relevant / acceptable answers.
The new hobby that I recently picked up is playing video games. I like playing Uno Online. As the name
suggests, it is an online version of UNO. It has the same rules like the card games. What I like about Uno Online is
that I can choose the number of players that I play with. It allows more than four players to play the game. The
online version also allows me to play with my neighbours.
I think Uno Online is good because it helps me to develop strategic thinking skills. I have to carefully
strategise to outwit my opponents and win the game. My classmates and I are already playing the game. You
should try too.

PART 3
You should spend about 20 minutes in this part.
Read the text below and complete the following table with no more than three
words and/ or a number from the text for each answer.
PEER PRESSURE
Teenagers are especially vulnerable to the effects of peer pressure. It is the effect that a
person's peer shave on them, making them act, think, and value things in a certain way so
they are accepted by their peers. Peer pressure is especially dangerous for teenagers
because they are still trying to figure out who they are. This can lead to both positive and
negative outcomes.
Positive peer pressure can push teens to do things that are beneficial for them, such
as joining extracurricular activities, pursuing academic excellence, or living a healthy
lifestyle. Positive peer pressure can also motivate someone to participate in activities that
are meaningful and fulfilling such as volunteering of participating in community service.
However, negative peer pressure might encourage teenagers to participate in risky
behaviours, such as experimenting with drugs and alcohol, engaging in sexual activities,
or engaging in criminal activities.
To combat negative peer pressure, teens should leam to stand up for themselves
and make their own choices. They should practise saying “no” to actions that make them
uncomfortable or that go against their moral principles. Teenagers can also ask for
assistance from dependable adults like their parents, teachers, or counsellors. These people
can give them advice, support, and encouragement as they grow in confidence and self-
esteem.
In conclusion, peer pressure is a natural part of adolescence and can have positive
and negative effects. Teenagers need to learn how to deal with peer pressure so that they
can build a good sense of self and self-esteem and live a healthy, happy life.

Billy and his family decided to visit the Kuala Gandah Elephant Conservation
Centre one weekend. It is a centre for rescued and orphaned elephants. It is located
near the town of Lancang.
After arriving at the centre, they first watched a short presentation and
introduction about the elephants there. They were told how the elephants were
rescued and that some of the elephants were retired.
Billy and his family saw a few elephants that had lost one of their legs
because they had been attacked by predators. They also learned that these wild
animals were being taught by the centre how to survive in the wild. Once they
were ready, the elephants would be returned to the wild.
Billy and his family also saw each elephant perform some skills and tricks.
The visitors watched in awe as the elephants helped their caretakers sit on their
backs. After the caretakers were comfortably sitting on the elephants' backs, they
began riding the elephants. They also saw an elephant passing a stick to its
caretaker. Billy's sister, Katie really enjoyed that and said it was really cute.
In another presentation, the visitors were shown how strong the elephants
are and how good their balance is. Billy felt that was his favourite part. Billy's
mother was glad that the elephants were well taken care of. They looked happy to
be there.
Once the presentation was over, the visitors were given the chance to feed
the elephants fruits prepared by the rangers. Billy and Katie had a wonderful time
feeding the elephants. Meanwhile, their parents took photos of them feeding the
elephants.
After that, the caretaker took the visitors to a platform by a river. The
visitors then watched the elephants bathe and play in the water. The caretaker said
that usually they would let visitors swim in the water with the elephants. However
at that time, the water level was too high.
Soon, it was time to go home. Billy and his family had a wonderful
time. They hope to visit the centre again another time.
