Current Problems
The world relies on the following to make classical electronics...

Classical electronics & inorganic semiconductors can Eco-

be expensive to produce, and often high energy unfriendly
consumption and contain heavy metals, such as lead
or cadmium, which can pose environmental and
health risks during production, use, and disposal.

Inorganic semiconductors are typically rigid and High cost

brittle, which makes them unsuitable for use in certain
flexible applications.

Novel conjugated polymer structure as organic

semiconductor provides an ease for fabrication
for printable matrix used in multi-functional
sensing scenarios

Using a combination of different organic

polymers and dopants, various organic
matrices with specific sensing target can be
tailor-made.

Printable, solution-processable
electronics
Small amount of semiconductive or conductive ink
can produce enormous amount of sensors by printing
technologies. 1 mL OM Sciences electronics ink can
produce over 200 sensing components for electronic
devices.
The Advantageous Features
of Conjugated Polymers
for Printable Organic Electronics

LOW POWER
Operate at one millionth of a volt, which is a thousand
times lower than the current produced by nerve cells.
Small amount of energy is required to drive the sensor,
making them ideal for real-time monitoring. Materials can
also be used in medicine, in vivo (human body) sensing
and robotics.

LOW COST
Total synthesis of active materials can be completed in the
laboratory, greatly reducing time and labor costs in
traditional electronics. Readily available resources such as
petroleum or biomasses as raw materials are used.

LIGHTWEIGHT
Organic electronics utilizes carbon as the major bbuilding
block used as semiconductors, or conductors. The nature
of carbon-based materials are lighter than conventional
inorganic materials. This enables better wearable, flexible,
strechable, or even implantable device experiences.

HIGH TUNABILITY
The different combinations building blocks and their
chemical functionality can bring different physical or
chemical effects to the final conjugated polymer.
Currently, OM Sciences has developed 8 kinds of donors
and 7 kinds of acceptors building blocks. In total, there are
56 possibilities that bear various properties for the
industry.

EASE OF FABRICATION
Production of polymers only takes 1 to 2 weeks. The
inorganic semiconductor industry requires more than 1 kg
to fabricate substrates. Organic conductive polymer only
requires 100 milligrams to 1 gram to fabricate one batch of
electronic components.

Characteristics of OM Organic Electronics

OM Organic Electronics offer several advantages over traditional inorganic

silicon-based electronics, including:

1 2
Solution
Flexibility
Processing
Printable on flexible substrates(plastics), Semiconducting polymer ink with high
suitable for use in wearable electronics & stability, high electron mobility, good
smart textiles. The substrate can also adhesion to various surfaces, controllable
inflexible such as ceramic. processability and viscosity.

3 4 Biocompatibility
Low-cost
Production
Using inexpensive, scalable and more Suitable in medical devices and implants
energy-efficient printing techniques, without causing adverse reactions in the
fabrication over large areas using roll-to- body such as glucose sensors, pacemaker
roll processing with cheaper cost than the electrodes, and neural probes.
high-temperature and high-vacuum
processes required for inorganic
electronics. It is semi-automated with
printers capable of 24/7 industrial
production.

5 Sustainability 6 Versatility
Carbon-based materials are abundant and Versatile polymer materials for multi-
can be recycled, making them more purpose. Just changing the choice of
sustainable than inorganic electronics conjugated polymer and the circuit
which often contain rare or toxic elements design (change of ink and change of
and are difficult to recycle. circuit diagram) can manufacture
different sensors from the same printer.
3D printing is also feasible with multiple
layers printing.

Sales and Marketing Approach of Organic Electronics - B2B2C

OM target device manufacturers with demands of sensors, such as Temperature

Sensor, Gas (VOC) Sensor Substrate and Tactile Sensor.

1. Easy solution

OM's durable sensors with high performance and competitive cost can be an easy
solution for device manufacturers to replace the existing sensor component in their
devices. For example, our aforementioned temperature sensor OM-TS-101 can be an
easy solution for manufacturers to apply to mobile phones, watches, breathing
devices, cold-chain logistics and etc.

2. Tailor-made solution

OM customizes sensors in accordance with the special criterion of device

manufacturers. For example, tailor-made sensors of hydrogen gas for manufacturers of
hydrogen gas storage device.

Polymer Characterization Testing and Quality Control

OM supplied material should meet key performance properties such as electron

mobility, conductivity, sensibility, adhesion, processability, viscosity, durability, etc.

Polymer Characterization Testing will be conducted to control the quality of the

conjugated polymers of each batch. Based on the experimental results of
manufacture, the materials are further optimized to improve its reaction yield. This can
involve modifying the chemical composition or structure of the material, or adjusting
the synthesis conditions to achieve better results. Once a promising organic
electronics is fabricated and optimized, researchers work to develop methods for
large-scale production. We can involve collaborations with industry partners to scale
up production and bring the material to market.
