My Quilting Experience

Narrate your experience in making Quilted Project and project in 8-10 sentences. Cite the challenges or
difficulties you encountered and how did you manage them. Emphasize the lessons learned for the
entire lesson.

My quilting experience is funny as well as challenging. I find my process extremely funny since there was
a lot of times that I have done a mistakes and I overthink that there’s no more possibility that I could
restore it. Luckily my mom is always by my side and observe what am I doing and thankfully my mom
knows what way or strategies should I use to recover it and she even tells me to use my brain and not
my mouth every time I’ve done a mistake and it was very funny. Making a potholder is new in my point
since the past needle craft that I do is the basic one such as stitching, crocheting, knitting, and
embroidery hence in order for me to make a quilted product successfully and safely is to be
understandable and to have a knowledge about safety measures since we use a sharp pointed needle
that can harm us if we did not use it properly. In doing the hand piecing quilts was not that hard I have
done doing 16 squares in less than an hour but I have a big struggle in binding honestly I did not get the
video tutorials provided so I’ve tried my own way in binding but I regret not trying to watch another
video about binding in social media because there was a time that I did not fold my binding strips and
there was also a time that it was upside down and I worried a lot why it wasn’t working at all as I say my
mom always observe my progress and she said to me that I should try watching another video about
binding and then finally I succeed and finish my binding. So not watching video tutorial before doing
some project that we don’t know how will be a waste time for us so we should watch tutorials first
before proceeding in order for us to be knowledgeable about what should we do next after doing the
first procedure. I learned a lot of lessons in quilting just like in using the safety measures properly and
not harming myself since if we harm ourselves and our emotions did not react then our body would be
the one to react so we must take care of ourselves as always. One of the biggest lessons that I have
learned while quilting is to be understandable and to make my patience very longer since doing
something successful takes time and in able to make it successfully it needs a lot of understanding.
Though doing our school project should be done by us since it was also for our own grades and benefits I
learned how to stand in my own way and not to fall easily because yourself is the only one you could
trust for including also your family because there will be a time that no one will come with us to face our
obstacle so it was salient to learn how to stand in our own feet and way. It was good enough to be
knowledgeable since there’s a lot of person it can be our friends that will trick us so that we are not be
able to move forward and look for the new opportunity so being educated enough will rescue us from
the bad will. So these are all of the challenged that I’ve experience and how I recover from it and the
lessons I learned while doing my quilted potholder.
