The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with co-funding by the
European Union (EU) has commissioned GIZ to reach the specific objective to “Enhance the skills of youth
and women in catchments of the IAIPs of Ethiopia” under the larger Ethio-German Sustainable Training
and Education Programme (STEP II) and as part of the joint EU action for the “Promotion of Sustainable
Ethiopian Agro-industrial Development” (PROSEAD) under the Component 4. PROSEAD aims to increase
decent employment and incomes for rural Ethiopians, particularly youth and women, in four
environmentally sustainable Integrated Agro-Industrial Parks (IAIPs) and their agricultural production
zones (catchment areas).

Key responsibilities:
Steering the implementation of activities in the different regions in accordance with the objectives of
Support in steering of implementation partners and sub-contractors (NGOs, Private service providers
and consultants)
Maintain direct relations with governmental counterparts and liaison at Addis Ababa level, e.g. with
Supervise the implementation progress of the Financial Agreements with the regional partner with the
Identify, assess, and recommend potential private sector partners and partnership opportunities
Ensure mainstreaming of decent job agenda in all activities and relationship with the implementing
Support the regions in proactively establish and ex pand partnerships with business industries and

Knowledge management and product owner for Private sector engagement methodologies and tools at
STEP Level
Tasks:
Act as a focal point (product owner) of private sector engagement activities at STEP level
Organize engagement platforms for the private sector and its networks with governmental
Organize coordination and informative meetings with internal and ex ternal stakeholders at project
Develop innovative approaches of cooperation with the private sector, TVET actors, and other parties
Support the TVET, universities and Career centers in establishing linkages with private sector entities
Establish tools and methodologies for the systemic approach and engagement of private sector actors
Build a database for the recording, monitoring, and evaluation of private companies contact and
collaboration
capturing numbers in the field of employment creation, skills development and private sector
Steering communication and visibility effort of the component through brining up interesting success
stories, e.g. related to the transition from unemployment to employment due to the intervention’s
Draft any project-related document (ToR, MoU, reports…) as requested by the project manager
Takes on further tasks assigned by the component manager
Job Requirements
At least 10 (ten) years of ex perience in the field of agri-business development, of which at least 3
Ex cellent network with private sector companies, industries and Agri-businesses in Ethiopia, especially
Proven work ex perience in/with private businesses and industries in the field of Agri-business or other
Ideally, knowledge of working in/with companies currently active or which has ex perience in one of
Proven ex perience in organizing and steering complex processes that involve a variety of stakeholders
Knowledge and ideally ex perience with Ethiopian government actors in the field of employment
creations such as industry bureaus, IPDC, and Regional TVET bureaus, etc.
Ex perience in cooperating with or working in Ethiopian government offices, agencies, NGOs and
Ex cellent skills in English, Amharic and Oromifa languages (writing, speaking, listening)
Very good skills in using Microsoft Office (Ex cel, Word, Outlook); MS Teams knowledge is an asset
Ex cellent communication skills and ability to work in team and build team spirit
Ex cellent ability to build and maintain good working relations with local actors on different levels and
different organizations
