OUR AIMS AND

BELIEFS
Animals natural habitats and homes are
being destroyed by the second for human
development of roads and housing. So
many trees are being unnecessarily cut for
more space and room, but is it needed? 1
billion trees worth are wasted every
year for paper production, magazines, and
building purposes.

Our aim is to stop deforestation next to

motorways, housing and parks in our local
area.

A3 CASE STUDY
Trees are essential to human survival as they
produce Oxygen. So many trees are being cut
down for human purposes such as housing, toilet
paper and newspapers. An example of this is the
A3. Trees are being cut down to make room for
new housing estates and more roads.

This means so much beautiful scenery is removed.

This process will also take years to complete so it
isnt that profiting anyway and will cause traffic and
many angry people. Land is cheaper next to motor
ways instead of in the city center which means
more people are inclined tobuild or use that land.
An idea would be to get governments to increase
the price of land near motorways to stop incidents
like the A3.

forests. In 2010, Nigeria
had 10.9Mha of natural
forest, extending over 12%
of its land area. In 2021, it
lost 96.5kha of natural
forest, equivalent to
58.5Mt of CO₂ emissions.

WHO?
Our targets:

We aim our campaign at construction companies who take

advantage of cheap land by motorways. This is known as
distance decay which is where land prices decrease as you
move away from the city centre.

We also want the local comitte(s) to be one of our targeted

audience as they have a lot of influence over the people and
have high up positions to interact with the government.

People in the local committee is where it starts, we need

support to increase the number of people aware of the issue
we are bringing up. The more support the louder our voice is
as a collective.
15 billion trees are cut each year while only
5 million are planted instead. So we are
losing a football fields worth of trees every
second!

HOW?
A good way to get recognition is a petition. As it is only a local campaign
we would like at least 10,000 - 50,000 (only 173,000 live in the Kingston
borough) this means the council will have to consider our ideas. To
signatures, we could ask manager of Heathrow to allow people to sign
our petition. We could also team up with other campaigners with
similar ideas to increase the popularity of our campaign and fame too.

Another idea would be to go to a pension home to target old people as

they have more time on their hands than the average person. This
means they can be more invested into the campaign. It could also be
educational and would be nice to educate them about our local
problems.

Increasing our social status

Posters and posts on social media is a great way for people to know
who we are. Increasing our social status would increase people’s
knowledge of us. Radio interview csn nationally increase our status as
well as shoutouts of us from celebrities or famous people on social
media. They can advertise our campaign which will increase our statu.

Signature symbol

We need a way people can easilyrecogmise us by. For example, an

easy logo that is recognisable and simple. A hashtag is also a easy
way to make us recognisable between other similar campaigns. We
also have a slogan of “If you cut down trees your children will have
to pay the fees”. Which is true, the more space we use the more
expensive it will be in future.
