Subject: Application for spouse open work permit.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I, Harpreet Singh, would like to introduce myself as Mandeep Kaur's spouse. I have written this
letter to apply for an open work permit for a spouse. My Wife has applied for a study visa to
Canada to pursue a Business Management Diploma from Portage College for the September
2024 intake. My primary purpose in accompanying my Wife is to provide her emotional and
moral support during her stay in Canada.

My Wife and I have been married since 15th October, 2023

Development of the Relationship:

We do not meet people by accident; they are meant to cross our path for a reason. I met my life
partner at a birthday party for one of our common friends in 2022. It was love at first sight, and I
got attracted to her due to her charming personality. She made such a strong impression that I
could not resist talking to her, and I just fell in love with her. We shared each other's contact
numbers and started talking to each other. During our initial conversation, we started developing
feelings for each other. In the year 2023, I proposed to Mandeep for marriage. We were happy to
have found soul mates in each other. We used to hang out a lot during our relationship in various
places like restaurants, cafes, malls, etc. Soon after, we decided to break the news of our
relationship with our parents about our plans, and after a few initial meetings between our
parents, they gave their nod to our marriage. We got engaged on….
Our marriage was solemnized on 15th October, 2023. Some pre-wedding ceremonies, like Jago
and Mehndi, took place in our respective homes in the presence of our relatives and family
members. We took vows in Gurudwara (Sikh Temple) on 15 th October 2023 to spend the rest of
our lives together. Our marriage party was attended by our family members, relatives, and
friends. After all the wedding festivities, Mandeep moved into my house to start a new chapter of
her life with me.
Nature of the Commitment:
My Wife dreams of getting an education from a foreign institution to establish a lucrative career
for her. She has her dream of standing on her own feet and achieving something in her life, and I,
as her better half, stood by her in her decision to move to a foreign land to achieve her dreams.
So, she has applied for a study permit to pursue a Business Management diploma from Portage
College. To let her entirely focus on her education and career, I decided to accompany her to
Canada so that she would not feel alone and homesick there. She would benefit from my visit by
being inspired and upbeat in these circumstances. .... I will assist her with her chores and be there
for her emotionally. I will also work there during my downtime to avoid being idle. My only
purpose to accompany her is to be with her in her thick and thin times and provide her with the
support she will need during her stay in Canada. She does not have social ties in Canada, so it
will be difficult for her to survive alone in a foreign land without emotional and moral support.
My presence in this academic journey will be a source of comfort and motivation for her, and in
this way, she can entirely focus on her career.
Emotional Development
I am a family-oriented man, and I always prioritize the happiness and peace of my family. My
partner is my priority, and I will go to any length to support her in achieving her dreams. I am
capable of supporting my Wife and managing our day-to-day life efficiently. Being with her in
Canada, I will be her biggest support system. My presence would work as a morale booster for
her, emotionally as well as mentally. Strong, dependable relationships lower stress, boost
happiness, lengthen life expectancy, and offer emotional support through tough times. I want to
be that pillar of support in her life so that she can achieve her dreams.
Social and Economic Integration
I spent considerable time studying the socio-economic integration of immigrants in Canada. I
always engaged socially with my family and friends. I am an extrovert who is very flexible and
can adjust to new conditions easily. I can easily integrate myself into Canadian society by
utilizing my social skills. Also, I expect to get employment in Canada due to the opportunities
available to all kinds of workers in this beautiful country. In addition, I have fluent English
speaking skills to communicate freely with co-workers and management.
Family and Finance
As discussed earlier, the primary reason for my Wife choosing Canada for her higher studies is
to strengthen her professional skills, which will help her get a well-paying job when she returns
to India. We both are very much connected emotionally to our parents and would wish to stay
with them and look after them. We have a stable financial condition to support us financially. I
currently have (amount) in my savings accounts and have an immovable property worth
INR……, which indicates a solid financial condition for me and my family in our homeland.

Future plans
As soon as my Wife finishes her degree, we must return to India. My Wife and I agree that it is
critical for our careers and families back home in India that we move back to India. With an
international degree from a foreign university, she sees a promising future in India and is fully
aware of her duties towards our family. We intend to relocate here in India to enjoy a stable
financial and social life. I have our ancestral property to look after in India, so I cannot stay in a
foreign land for extended periods.
Being the elder child of my parents, It is my moral obligation to be with them and look after
them in their growing age, and my Wife, Mandeep Kaur, fully supports my decision to shift back
to India after completing her studies to live with my parents.

Conclusion
This information will sufficiently demonstrate my intentions to travel and allow you to issue the
requested visa to me. I undertake to ensure that I do not remain in Canada further than the
permitted period. I am completely aware of the rules and regulations of Canadian immigration
law, and I will surely abide by and adhere to them respectfully.
I am enclosing the following documents in support of my application:
 Bank Statements of Harpreet Singh
 Property Appraisal Report of Harpreet Singh
 Marriage certificate
 Valid study permit of Mandeep Kaur
 Wedding and pre-wedding ceremony photographs
