Congratulations on your new AKASO Brave 7 Action Camera! You must be excited
to use your Brave 7, however, please spend time reading this manual before using
it. You need to get to know all its features now so as to get the most out of it.
It’s of great importance to regularly update the camera’s firmware. To do this, you
can connect your camera to the AKASO GO app via the camera’s Wifi, and then
download and install the newest firmware.
1. This camera is a precise product. Please protect it from falling or colliding in
case it’s badly damaged.
2. Please place this camera away from machines or matters rich in strong magnet-
ic fields or power, such as motors or magnets.
3. Please make sure the camera work at its operating temperature. Do not leave it
exposed to high or low-temperature areas for a long period of time in case its
service life is shortened.
4. This camera body is waterproof, though, please make sure all its covers are
tightly closed before diving and there is no foreign matter around the camera
lens.
5. Please rinse the camera in clean water and dry it up with a soft cloth each time
you finished using it in the sea.
6. Please do not charge the battery for a long period of time. Keep it away from
kids and pets in case of any incident.
7. Please take the battery out of the camera if you do not use it for a long period

Micro SD Card Use

To capture videos and photos, you need a memory card(sold separately). Please
use brand name memory cards that meet these requirements:
1. U3
2. Capacity up to 512GB (FAT32)
Warm Tip:
1. Please format the memory card in this camera before using it to ensure
compatibility.
2. Using a memory card with a capacity larger than what is required can lead to
complications such as failure to recognize the card. In addition, it may cause
camera malfunctions, including unresponsiveness and firmware failure.
3. To keep your memory card in good condition, please reformat it on a regular
basis. Reformatting erases all your content, so please make sure to offload your
photos and videos before reformatting. FAT32 format memory card will stop re-
cording and starts to record again on a new file when the file size reaches 4GB.

Notes
1. Please do not use the Micro SD card in environments exposed to strong
currents or magnetic fields.
2. Please do not touch the Micro SD or leave it touched by any mental items in
case it’s squeezed, bent, or falling.
3. Please keep the Micro SD card away from water, wet areas, or places with
erosive items.
4. Please insert the Micro SD into the card slot in the right direction.
5. Please do not insert any foreign item into the Micro SD card slot.
6. Please turn off the camera before inserting or removing the Micro SD card.

IPX8 Waterproof

The Brave 7 action camera is designed to be IPX8 waterproof without an external

case. So you can submerge it up to 8 meters or 26 feet deep. Nevertheless, it is
crucial to take necessary precautions to prevent any leakage. Before immersing
your Brave 7 action camera in water, ensure that all the protective covers are
firmly closed. You can begin your underwater adventure with peace of mind once
you hear a click, indicating that all the covers are securely sealed.

Notes:
1.The Brave 7 action camera is waterproof, though, it’s easy to form a conductive
layer on the touchscreen when there is moisture on it, resulting in screen drift or
multiple screen jumps, causing the touchscreen not to function properly
underwater. So we recommend you operate the camera underwater through
buttons. For instance, if you need to switch shooting modes, first make sure the
camera is on the preview screen, then press the Mode button. Tip: When the
camera is on the mode menu screen, you can press the Mode button again to
switch to another mode.
2. To avoid multiple screen jumps when using the camera underwater, we
recommend you lock the screen. To do this, simply tap on the Lock icon on the
quick menu. To unlock the screen, just tap on the Lock icon on the screen and
swipe the slider up.

3. If you want to dive into deep waters for optimal experience, please install your
Brave 7 action camera into the waterproof case in case it gets soaked.
Note: The camera will not record sound when it’s in the waterproof case.

Overheated Camera
The Brave 7 action camera is designed to detect overheating conditions and will
shut down when needed. A red icon stating "Temperature too high! The camera
will automatically shut down" will appear on the touchscreen if your camera
becomes too hot and needs to cool down. Consequently, the camera will power
off automatically. At this time, you will just need to let the camera idle and cool
before using it again.
Notes: 1. The Brave 8 Lite action camera operates within a temperature range
between -5℃ and 45℃ (23℉ and 113℉). Using the camera in excessively high or
low temperatures will affect its runtimes.
2. Capturing at a high resolution and frame rate will cause your camera to
consume more power and heat up much faster, especially in high temperatures.
In this case, try to shoot at a lower resolution and frame rate.

This option allows you to the meter mode for different scenes. There are 5 meter-
ing modes of the Brave 7 action camera.
CAM (Central Average Metering ): In this mode, the camera primarily focuses on
the center of the screen while also taking into account the surrounding elements.
This mode proves particularly effective when capturing scenes with uniform
lighting conditions.

58
EN

AM (Average Metering): Also known as matrix metering mode. In this mode, the
camera measures the brightness of the entire scene and calculates the exposure
to avoid overexposure. It’s suitable for use in scenes of even lights.
CM (Central Metering): In this mode, the camera measures the brightness of the
scene with more emphasis on the center area. It’s ideal for taking selfie, close-up
shots of flowers and grass, etc.
SM (Spot Metering): In this mode, the camera measures the brightness of a
small area or spot in the scene, and sets the exposure based on that reading. It’s
perfect for taking close-ups.
AFM (AI Facial Metering): In this mode, the camera can recognize and optimize
the exposure settings of the camera based on the detected facial features in the
scene. It’s ideal for use in taking selfie.
To configure the Metering settings, tap on the “Metering” option to access its
settings screen. From there, you can choose your preferred option from the
available options: CAM (default), AM, CM, SM, and AFM.
