Welcome to the Slickline Basic Training Course

The online Slickline Basic Training course provides a solid theoretical introduction to
Slickline via a course divided into seven separate courses comprising of eighteen
individual easy to follow lessons.

Each lesson covers one major aspect of Slickline enabling the student, who may have very
little exposure or knowledge of Slickline, to gain a clear understanding of the subject.

The lessons flow naturally from an introduction through to more complex equipment
subjects, with each lesson delivering the knowledge required to fully engage in the subject.

Each lesson is a standalone learning experience, broken into a number of clearly defined
steps, typically four.

1. Download the lesson’s supporting documentation

2. View the training video

3. Review the training material

4. Take the quiz

With a quiz pass mark of 80%, move on to the next lesson.

On completion of the course the student will have acquired a level of knowledge which will
provide the solid foundation of a career in Slickline.

1. At the end of the Slickline Basic Training Course, students will have

preparing them for their career in Slickline

completing all of the mandatory lessons

to the day to day operational activities in their organisations

Paying for a Course

Students will be required to enroll in each section of the Slickline Basic Training course.
Not all course sections require a payment as some are free of charge, others will require
a payment on enrollment.

Slickline Connect uses PayPal to process all course fees.

Opening a PayPal account is straight forward and cost free, all that’s needed is an email
address and a cell phone number to sign up, and, to make an online transaction link a
credit card or a bank account to the PayPal account.

Included is PayPal Buyers Protection, which provides full protection for every online
transaction. To quote PayPal, “When buyers pay with PayPal on any website, PayPal Buyer
Protection covers them in case there is a problem. If an item doesn’t arrive or is significantly not as
described, we will help buyers get a full refund”.

The Slickline Basic Training Course is divided into seven individual sections. Students
must enroll in and successfully complete each section to receive a course certificate.

Sections 1 and 7 are free of charge, whereas sections 2 through to 6 will require a
payment on enrollment.

Slickline Connect are offering significant discounts to individuals who enroll in the Slickline
Basic Training Course, with discounts of 60% or more off the list price.

For example, where a course section list price is 270.00$, on enrollment a student may
only pay 108.00$

How To Get Started Training

The first step is to go to the course which is hosted on the Thinkific hosting site, use the
following URL to find out training home page: -

Currently Slickline Connect the Slickline Basic Training Course is the only course available
and this is reflected in our home page, but in time further courses will be added.

STEP 1 – On the Slickline Connect Training Home Page click on the Let’s Get Started
button

The Slickline Basic Training Course page will then open, review the page contents

STEP 2 – When ready click on the Sign up button

The sign up / registration page shown below will appear, In order the access the first
section of the Slickline Basic Training Course a registration is required.

STEP 3 – Fill in the following details: -

Add your company
Add your country

And, click the Sign up button at the bottom of the form

Slickline Basic Training Course Quizzes

Quizzes are valuable tools that are used throughout the course to encourage and promote
the retention of knowledge and learning, and to ensure that the lessons are followed and
the supporting documents have been downloaded and referred to.

Each lesson has a large question pool, in most cases +/-100 questions and each quiz
consists of a set of random questions taken from the relevant question pool.

The Slickline Basic Training Course has the following quizzes, all of which must be
completed successfully in order to obtain the course certificate.

1) Lesson Quiz, 15 questions, taken at the end of each lesson and successful pass is
required before proceeding to the next lesson

2) Pressure Calculation Quiz, 8 questions, a homework assignment half way through the
course

3) End of Course Quiz, comprising of 30 questions

A pass of 80% is required for every quiz.

After each lesson, there is a quiz with each quiz consists of 15 questions drawn at random from the
lesson’s question pool.

By clicking on the orange button at the bottom of the page, marked ‘complete & continue’ opens
the quiz download page, which looks like this.

There are ten quizzes on the page, all you have to do is select and download it.

The quiz is an MS WORD document - below is an example of an open quiz sheet

The questions are arranged on the left of the sheet and answers must go in the corresponding box
on the right of the sheet.

These types of questions require a written/typed answer.

Why? - the reasoning behind this is to reinforce the learning objectives and to promote a better
understanding of the subject matter.

The answer to every question can be found in the accompanying lesson’s notes which were
downloaded at the start of the lesson.

By using a key word search in the lesson’s notes the correct answer(s) will be found.

Displayed in the column on the right are the possible marks per question

Example Q 1: What was a significant development in 1865

The answer is: But perhaps the most significant development in this era was the founding of the
Standard Oil Company by J D Rockefeller in 1865 (See page 4 of the Oil & Gas & Slickline Introduction
Notes)

Example Q 2: What type of maintenance jobs does Slickline do inside well bores

The answer is: Clearing them of debris such as sand or paraffin wax and gauging the tubing string
to determine if it is clear to depth (See page 30 of the Oil & Gas & Slickline Introduction Notes)

There is no time limit for completing a quiz

On completion of the fifteen questions, and after reviewing the answers, the completed sheet must
be uploaded for marking and review.

Below is the document upload page.

Once the completed quiz has been uploaded, Slickline Connect will be made aware of the upload
by an automated email message

The process of marking will be very quick and the student will be informed of the outcome of the
quiz in a very short period of time, a pass mark will enable the student to go on and start the next
lesson.

The student will receive a copy of the marked quiz for their records.

Important: - In the case that a pass mark is not achieved the student must repeat the quiz by
returning to the quiz download page and downloading another quiz question sheet and repeating
the process described above

Starting Section 2

The Slickline Basic Training Course consist of seven individual sections, sections one and
seven are FOC, whereas sections two through six require a payment to access. Payments
should be made using PayPal, follow these instructions to continue with the course.

Step 5 – Click on the Go to Section 2 button to open the section registration page. On
this page you can apply the discount coupon and pay for the section using PayPal and
following the instructions

Step 6 – Completing the purchase, opens this screen, clicking on the button takes you to
