(i) Prove that the perpendicular drawn to a chord, which is not a diameter, from the center of
a circle, bisects the chord
(ii) Prove that if any straight line passing through the center of a circle bisects the chord, which
is not a diameter, then the straight line will be perpendicular on that chord.

(i) At the time of retirement Sunita Chettri got ₹ 6,00,000 as Provident fund and Gratuity. She
wants to deposit some of the money in Post Office and some in the Bank so that she would
get ₹ 34,000 as total interest per year. If the rate if simple interest per annum in the Post
Office and the Bank are 6% and 5% respectively, then find the money deposited in Post
Office and the Bank.
(ii) Mr. Rai deposited money for both of his daughters in such a way that when ages of each of
his daughters will be 18 years then each one will get ₹ 1,20,000. The rate of simple interest
per annum in the bank is 10% and the present ages of his daughters are 13 and 8
respectively. Find the money he had deposited in the bank for each of his daughters.

7. ANSWER ANY TWO: (3 +3 =6)
(i) For elevating 6.5 dcm. of low land with length 48 m and breadth 31.5 m., the soil was
collected by digging a hole nearby of length 27 m. and breadth 18.2 m, find the depth of
the hole in metre.
(ii) Half of a cuboidal water tank with length 2.1 m and breadth 1.5 m. is filled with water. If
630 litres of water is poured into the tank, then find the increase in the height of water.
(iii) The inner length, breadth and height of a wooden box of tea are 7.5dcm, 6 dcm. And 5.4
dcm respectively. If the weight of the box filled with tea is 52 Kg 350 gms and when it’s
empty, its weight is 3.75 Kg, find the weight of 1 cubic dcm of tea.

(i) If the sum of two angles is and their difference is 30°, find the circular and sexagesimal

(ii) The ratio of the angles of triangle is 2: 5: 3 find the circular and sexagesimal measures of
the biggest and the smallest angles.
