Learning Objectives At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

A. Understand how sound waves travel through a medium.

B. Distinguish the speed of sound through different medium.
C. Discuss why sound waves are important.

Subject matter The number of sub atomic particles in atom, ions and isotopes.

Assessment activity individual activity

Procedure;
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
A. Preliminaries
1. Prayer

The leader may now come in front to lead us a prayer. -Let us pray.
2. Greetings

Good morning class! - good morning teachers

You may now takes your seat.

3. Checking of Attendance

- be sure that you are all in your proper seats, or else you will be marked absent.  Yes sir.
4. Passing of Assignment

Do you have an assignment class?  None sir.

5. Setting of Standard

Kindly pick all the pieces of paper that you can see around the classroom. Arrange your
chair. If you want to recite raise right hand and tell your answer.

B. Review/apperception
 Sir. the distance between
Last meeting we describe the characteristic of sound using the concept of wave length, successive crests of a
velocity and amplitude. So again what is wave length class? wave, especially points in a
sound wave or
electromagnetic wave
Very good class.

What again are the 3 types of waves?  Sir. The wave X,Y and Z.

 Yes leo you may stand

 Very good leo, you may now take your seat.
C. Motivation .

Let the students watch a short video on sound waves.

D. Presentation of the Lesson

POWERPOINT PRESENTATION

What medium the sound travel the fastest?

a. Solid
b. liquid
c. gas

As you observe the particles of solid, liquid and gas. There has something to do with the
speed of sound by the vibration that was caused in each particles. Which we call this as the
medium.
E. generalization

Sound is produced when an object vibrates, creating a pressure wave. This pressure wave
causes particles in the surrounding medium (air, water, or solid) to have vibrational motion.
As the particles vibrate, they move nearby particles, transmitting the sound further through
the medium.
F. valuing

Sound waves are important because they allow us to hear important messages and
emergency signals to protect ourselves. Sound waves are part of an important process of
your hearing and living.
G. Evaluation
In a ¼ sheet of your pad paper. Write true if the statement is correct and false if the
statement is incorrect.

1. sound waves travel through a medium.

2. sound can travel faster in solid.

3. the slowest medium for the sound to travel is gas.

4-5. essay

Can sound travel through a vacuum? why.

H. Assignment

Advance read on factors affecting the speed of sound.
