3. Question No 34 to 36 are Long Answer Type questions of 5 marks each.

Q.1 If p(x) = 3x3 – 2x2 + 6x – 5, find p(2)

Write a quadratic polynomial, sum of whose zeroes is 2√ 3 and their product is 2.

Q.2 If the product of the zeroes of x2 – 3kx + 2k2 – 1 is 7, then find the values of k.

Q.3 Find the number of solutions of the following pair of linear equations: x + 2y – 8 = 0; 2x + 4y = 16

Q.4 The cost of 3 pens and 5 pencil boxes is Rs. 120 and that of 4 pens and 7 pencil boxes is Rs.250.
Find the cost of pen alone.

Q.5 Find how many two-digit numbers are divisible by 9 (or) In an AP, if a = 3, n = 8, Sn = 192, find d.

Q.6 For what value of m, the quadratic equation x2 – mx + 9 = 0 have real and equal roots?

Q.19 In the month of December 2020, it rained heavily throughout the day over the city of Hyderabad. Anil
observed the raindrops as they reached him.
Each raindrop was in the shape of a hemisphere surmounted by a cone of the same radius of 1 mm.
Volume of one of such drops is 3.14 mm³.
Anil collected the rain water in a pot having a capacity of 1099 cm³. [Use √2 = 1.4]

Q.20 Mohan went to Airport two and half hours before his departure time. He observes that an Aero plane
leaves an airport and flies due north at a speed of 1,000 km per hour. At the same time, he observes
another Aero plane leaves the same airport and flies due west at a speed of 1,200 km per hour. After
the departure of the two Aero planes, now he is rough sketch of drawing the four directions along with

Q.24 If the cost of fencing a circular field at the rate of Rs 24 per metre is Rs 5280, then find the radius of
the circular field.

2 women and 5 men can together finish an embroidery work in 4 days, while 3 women and
6 men can finish it in 3 days. Find the time taken by 1 woman alone to finish the work, and
also that taken by 1 man alone.

Q.35 A straight highway leads to the foot of a tower. A man standing at the top of the tower observes
a car at an angle of depression of 30°, which is approaching the foot of the tower with a uniform
speed. Six seconds later, the angle of depression of the car is found to be 60°. Find the time
taken by the car to reach the foot of the tower from this point.
