PART A
1. Find the perimeter of a triangle with vertices (0, 4), (0, 0) and (3, 0).
14. Three solid spheres of diameters 6 cm, 8 cm and 10 cm are melted to form a single solid
sphere. Find the diameter of the new sphere.
OR
Volume of two spheres is in the ratio 64: 125. Find the ratio of their surface areas.
15. How many tangents can a circle have?
16. What is the common difference of an A.P. in which a18 – a14 = 32?
17. CASE STUDY - 1
Group of friends playing with cards bearing numbers 5 to 50. All cards placed in a box and are
mixed thoroughly. One friend withdraws the cards from the box at random and then replace it.
(18) What is the probability that the card drawn from the box bears a prime number less than
10?

29 . CASE STUDY - 3
There are two examination rooms A & B on top floor of a school. Some students are sitting in room A
and some are sitting in room B. The teacher has various plans for seating arrangements.
(30) If 10 students are sent from room A to B the number of students in each room is same,
represent this situation in form of linear equations in two variables.
(i) 𝑥 − 𝑦 = 20 ( ii) 𝑥 + 𝑦 = 20 (iii) −𝑥 + 𝑦 = 20 (iv−𝑥 − 𝑦 = 20
(31) If 20 students are sent from B to A, the number of students in A is double the number of
students in B.Represent this algebraically situation in form of linear equations in two variables.
Light house is a tower which is designed light from a system of lamps and to serve as a navigational
aid for maritime pilots at sea. Two boats approaching a light house in mid sea from opposite
direction. The angle of elevation of Light house from both the boats are also given.

PART B
41. A girl empties a cylindrical bucket full of sand, of base radius 18 cm and height 32 cm on the
floor to form a conical heap of sand. If the height of this conical heap is 24 cm, then find its
slant height correct to one place of decimal.
42. Prove that length of the tangents drawn from an external point to a circle are equal.
43. For what value of p the pair of linear equations (p + 2) x – (2p + 1) y = 3(2p – 1)
and 2x – 3y = 7 has a unique solution.
47. ABCD is a diameter of a circle of radius 6 cm. The lengths AB, BC and CD are equal.
Semicircles are drawn on AB and BD as diameter as shown in the fig. Find the area of the
shaded region.
51.

54. Prove that: 𝐶𝑜𝑠𝑒𝑐𝐴 −1 + 𝐶𝑜𝑠𝑒𝑐𝐴+1 = 2 + 2 𝑡𝑎𝑛2 𝐴
55. The rain water from a roof 22m × 20m drains into a cylindrical vessel having diameter of base 2m
and height 3.5m. If the vessel is just full, find the rainfall in cm.
