4. Section II has 4 questions on case study. Each case study has 5 case-based sub-parts. Attempt
any 4 out of 5 sub-parts.
5. Section III – Question No 21 to 26 are Very short answer Type questions of 2 mark each,
6. Section IV – Question No 27 to 33 are Short Answer Type questions of 3 marks each
7. Section V – Question No 34 to 36 are Long Answer Type questions of 5 marks each.
8. Internal choice is provided in 5questions of 1 mark, 2 questions of 2 marks, 2 question of 3
marks and 1 question of 5 marks.

SECTION I

Q 1- Multiply 5√28 by 2 √7

Find the value of k if the line represented by the equation 2x – ky = 9 passes through the
point ( -1 , -1 )

Q 5- If x > 0 and y <0 , then the point ( x , y ) lies in which quadrant.

Q 6- In fig , state which lines are parallel and why ?

Q 7- In XYZ , Z =  X and YZ = 4cm and XZ = 5 cm. Find the length of XY.

In ABC and DEF , AB = DF and A =  D. By SAS axiom , which one condition is necessary to
show that ABC DFE.

Q 8- If ABCD is a rhombus with  ABC = 560 , Find the measure of  ACD.

Q 9- If the length of a chord of a circle is 16 cm and is at a distance of 15 cm from the centre of the
circle , find the radius of the circle.

Q 13- Find the ratio of the total surface area of a sphere and a hemisphere of same radius.

Q15- Two coins are tossed simultaneously . What is the probability of getting no head.

Q 16- The four angles of a quadrilateral are in the ratio 1:2:4:5 . Find the measure of the smallest
angle.

SECTION II

All the four case study based questions are compulsory. Attempt any 4 sub-part from each
question (Q17-20).

Q 17- Veena planned to make a jewellery box to gift her friend Reeta on her marriage. She made the
jewellery box of wood in the shape of a cuboid.

The jewellery box has the dimensions as shown in the figure below. The rate of painting the
exterior of the box is Rs 2 per cm2. After making the box she took help from his friends to
decorate the box.
The blue colour was painted by Deepak, black by Suresh, green by Harsh and the yellow was
painted by Naresh.

(i) What is the volume of the box ?

Q 19-

In the above picture , one small square is of size 1 Km x 1 Km. From the starting point O(0,0) Deepak
started to drive towards his home . He first drives 3 Km in the left then he turned to his left and drove
2 Km, there he found a temple. He worshipped there and drove 6 Km in the left direction, there is a
zoo and from the zoo, he drives 2 Km on the right side , then he reached his home.

From O Sanjay drove for his school , he drove 1 Km to his right then took a left turn and drives 2 Km
then again took a right turn and drives 2 Km. He found a hospital in the way. From Hospital he drove 3
Km and finally reached his school.

Q 26- Find the cost of laying grass in a triangular field of sides 50 m , 65 m , and 65 m at the rate of
Rs 7 per m2.

Q34- Cost of 1 pen is Rs x and that of 1 pencil is Rs y. Cost of 2 pens and 3 pencils together is
Rs 18.Write a linear equation which satisfies this data. Draw the graph for the same.

Q35- Prove that angle subtented by an arc at the centre is double the angle subtented by it at any
point on the remaining part of the circle.
(a) In fig , O is the centre of the circle , OAB = 300 and OCB = 550 . Find the measures of
BOC and AOC

Q36- A person pays Rs 2200 to children to paint the inner curved surface of a cylindrical vessel 10 m
deep . If the cost of painting is at the rate of Rs 20 per m2 , find:
(a) inner curved surface area of the vessel
(b) radius of the base
(c) capacity of the vessel

A soft drink is available in two packs :


(a) A tin can with rectangular base of length 5 cm and width 4 cm, having height of 15 cm and
(b) A plastic cylinder with circular base of diameter 7 cm and height 10 cm.
