Service Manual Calibration instructions

The new scale electronics include two service functions. On the one hand recalibration and
on the other hand a function which allows the subsequent replacement of a load cell and the
recalculation of the corner override values made necessary by this.

Scale service can be started by switching the switch (switch on) in the display module
followed by restarting the scale.

After restarting, the display shows the flashing text “LOAD“, which informs the service
technician that the scale is waiting to be loaded. The type of load determines the service
mode to which the scale branches. The scale is able to distinguish between centric and
eccentric load (at one of the corners). The scale must be loaded with a weight >50 kg.
Attention: The unit of weight and hence the magnitude of weights to be placed on the scale
depend on the last unit of weight set on the display. The calibration instructions refer to the
unit of weight kg.

Centric load detected

A centric load signals to the scale that simple recalibration is to be carried out.

Menu prompting on the display is described below.

When a centric load has been identified, the display reads as follows:

17.07.07 / Kr, Rei 1 30-34-00-743

Service Manual Calibration instructions

After a waiting period of two seconds, the display flashes as follows:

This prompts the service technician to place the requested load of 120 kg on the centre on
the scale and to acknowledge this action afterwards. Acknowledgement is carried out by
briefly pressing any of the buttons (with the exception of the start button). The scale now
checks whether the weight is identified as a stable weight. If a stable weight value is
detected, the display stops flashing. After calculating the correction factors and saving them
in the EEPROM, the following is displayed:

After a waiting period of two seconds, the display is cleared and the scale switches off
automatically. This completes the recalibration process.

Eccentric load detected

An eccentric load signals to the scale that a subsequent corner adjustment is to be carried
out. Subsequent corner adjustment is carried out using weights that must be in a specific
weight range. The unit and hence the magnitude of weights to be placed on the scale
depend on the last unit of weight set on the display. These calibration instructions relate to
the unit of weight kg.

Menu prompting on the display is described below.

When an eccentric load has been detected, the display reads as follows:

17.07.07 / Kr, Rei 2 30-34-00-743

Service Manual Calibration instructions

After a waiting period of two seconds, the display reads as follows:

After another waiting period of two seconds, the display flashes as follows:

The display “E 1” means corner 1. Corner 1 is always the corner on which the load cell was
replaced. The other load cells are numbered clockwise. The flashing weight display informs
the service technician that the requested load, 70 kg in this case, must be placed on the
corner and that this action must then be acknowledged. Acknowledgement is carried out by
briefly pressing any of the buttons (with the exception of the start button). The scale now
checks whether the weight is identified as a stable weight. If a stable weight value is
detected, the display stops flashing and is cleared shortly afterwards. Next, the following text
flashes on the display.

This prompts the service technician to remove the load from the scale. If the scale detects
that the load has been removed, the display is cleared and the process continues with the
next corner (corner opposite to the one where the load cell was replaced). After the following
text has been displayed, the same process as described above is repeated again.

17.07.07 / Kr, Rei 3 30-34-00-743

Service Manual Calibration instructions

After loading, acknowledgement and a successful stability check for the corner displayed, the
new corner correction factor is calculated for the replaced load cell. After saving the value to
the EEPROM, the following is displayed:

After a waiting period of two seconds, the display is cleared and the scale switches off
automatically. This completes the subsequent corner correction process.
