Editorial

Going beyond gross results

A
ny work done must be complete, holistic, where our body, mind, emotions and intellect are
equally involved. If any work is done mechanically and physically, then its effect will be very
temporary.

No doubt, human beings manage to function like machines. People work out on a treadmill for half
an hour with music plugged into their ears, and feel fit. There may be some body reduction,
sweating and a feeling of freshness. But there is no development of their personality.

A wrestler used to come to the Institute — a gold medalist who remained India’s top wrestler for five
years. But in the sixth year, somebody defeated him, which he found difficult to accept, that
someone could be better. As a result, he went into severe depression and could not even lift his
hands, which were so big and muscular. But there was no strength in them, because his mind was in
bad shape.

So, we have to be very careful. If we concentrate on developing ourselves in only one area and do
not pay attention to other areas, problems are bound to occur.

Work must be done in its entirety every time. Even in just the simple act of moving the hand up, so
many things are involved. First, the will to move. If that is not there, I will not be able to move my
hand. Then comes the mind; emotion; if I don’t enjoy it, I will not move my hand. And finally, the
muscles and action. So, mind, brain and activity, all these areas have to be tackled, then it is right
action. Otherwise, it remains just physical work, without the right approach.

It is said that life is a game. Play it and play it well. By bringing this philosophy into your life, do your
best.

उनक बलता को भी कम से कम महसूस
कया जाए । इसी लये हम सभी के लए भी
हर ःख क घड़ी म मान सक स तुलन बनाए
रखना आव यक है । हमारे ऋ ष-मु नय के
ऊपर भी अनेक क आए ह, आते रहते ह पर
कार के ःख से होती है । आ या मक, वो अपने ववेक ारा बेअसर रहते ह । जब
आ धभौ तक एवं आ धदै वक । भगवान बु भगवान बु के ऊपर कसी ने थूका या गाली
भी यही कहते ह – “सव ःखम् ःखम्” या न गलोच कया तो वो एक ही बात कहते थे –
सभी कुछ ःख ही ःख है । ववेक पु ष आने “एक और कम कटा ।”

बाहर नकला जाए – कैसे इसे तोड़ा जाये यही गीता के अनुसार ‘ न काम कम’ या योग के
उनके च तन का वषय रहता है । अनुसार ‘ ेत’ या ‘न ेत न कृ ण कम’ करने ह ता क जो कम के
बीज हम आज बो रहे ह वो कल ज ड़त होकर हमारे ःख का
ास जी कहते ह क वतमान जीवन से पहले अनेक यो नय म हम कारण न बने ।
ःख भोग चुके ह, वो समा त हो गये ह, उनके वषय म सोचना
वचारना बेकार है । कुछ ःख हम वतमान म भोग रहे ह ये भी ज द सां य दशन के अनुसार भी हमारा अ तम ल य तीन कार के
लु त हो जाएग
ं े इसी लये इनके उपाय क भी आव यकता नह है । ःख का नाश है । इस सू म बात क जा रही है क जब ःख आए
परंतु जो ःख अभी तक उभर कर नह आए ह, जो भ व य म होने तो मन क थरता, ववेक व समझदारी ारा ःख के असर को
वाले ह उनके ऊपर च तन आव यक है – उनके नाश का उपाय कम कया को कया जाए । डॉ. जयदे व यह भी कहते ह क अपनी
आव यक है जसे हेय कहा गया है । हेय या न जो न करने यो य क मय – हा मय – ु टय को समझ, जो हमारे ःख का कारण ह
ह। व अपने अ दर ऐसे प रवतन लाएँ क हम गलत - अधा मक –
अनै तक कम न कर ता क आने वाले ःख से बच सक । मन म
यहाँ सू म भ व य म आने वाले ःख को यागने यो य बताया गया वैरा य भाव उ प करके भी भ व य म आने वाले ःख को टाला
है य क पहले दो कार के ःख म न करने लायक कुछ रहा ही जा सकता है ।
नह है । आने वाले ःख ही ह जसका भोग अभी आर भ नह आ
है । वरना कम स ा त ब त साफ तरीके से कहता है –

कृ त चेतनवत् क तरह कैसे काय करती है ?

जैसे जड़ होने पर भी गाय के घास आ द खाने, पानी आ द पीने से बने ध क वृ बछड़े के शरीर को बढ़ाने और पु करने
क होती है वैसे ही धान भी जड़ है क तु उसक वृ पु ष के भोग और अपवग के लए होती है ।

जैसे माँ का ध ब चे के पोषण के लए होता है खुद के लए नह , कुस सर के बैठने के लए है खुद के लए नह वैसे ही


कृ त पु ष को समझदार बनाने म लगी रहती है जससे वह वापस कृ त के चंगलु म न फंसे ।

या हम ऐसा सोच सकते ह क कृ त जो भी कर रही है, हमारे अ छे के लए कर रही है । कृ त ब त ताकतवर है अपनी


व भ प र थ तय से जैसा स चा ेम, अ या तक ःख, अ नयं त मौज म ती आ द से ऐसे अनुभव करवाती है क फर कभी
उनक इ छा नह होती ।

जैसे 100 रसगु ले खा लेने पर फर खाने क इ छा नह होती ।

एक ब चे का ज म होता है, बूढ़ा होता है, मर जाता है, यह सब दे खते-दे खते राजकुमार स ाथ समझ गए क चैत य अलग है
और सोच-सोच कर भगवान बु हो गए । हमे भी चैत य के बारे म ब त सोचना होगा, गु से पूछना होगा ।

हम संसार म ह, संसार म कई चीज ह जनम हम सबेरे से शाम तक लगे रहते ह, समझ नह पाते हमारा मन कैसे बना है, बु
कैसे बनी है । छोट -छोट चीज म गम ु हो जाते ह । भूल जाते ह क वो चालाक आदमी है । जीवन म कुछ हो रहा है, वह दे खने
और समझने जैसा है । इसके पीछे कारण है जहाँ तक जा ही नह रहे । जीवन तो ऐसे ही चलता रहता है, अ छा-बुरा उससे
हमारा या फायदा हो रहा है । दो तरीके ह जो हो रहा है उसे दे खते रहना या उसम लीन हो जाना । दा पीने वाला उसम ही खो
जाता है । य आ – या उ े य है ? ऐसा हम सोचते नह , ये समझदारी बढ़ानी चा हए । यही सां य का उ े य है । तभी ःख
ख म ह गे ।

ब दलाव हमारे अ त व का वा त वक मूलमम है । हम नई -


नई योजना बनाते ह और सावधानीपूवक उसका बंध भी
करते ह मगर अमल करते समय योजना व काय म वैसे नह
रहते ह, जैसे क ार भ म अनुमान लगाये जाते ह ।
तभी वह अपने नकट और य लोग, जनके साथ तालमेल बैठाने म
समथ हो, उनके वकास के लये कोमल तौर तरीके से मदद कर सकता
है । यह तालमेल केवल तभी बनाया जा सकता है जब वह सर का
आँकलन बड़ी स ती से न करे, अपने आपको सरे के तर पर
ला सके । अगर वह वैसा सोच सके जैसा सरा दे खता है । कोई शायद
हम एक अ भभावक से एक ःखद प मला, जसम उ ह ने बताया क आदशवाद से ो धत हो सकता है परंतु अपनी इन आदशवाद आदत
– उनके युवा ब चे ने मनो च क सक के सामने खुलासा कया क अपने को नयं त रखकर, आदशवाद को यथाथवाद क स यता से मलाने
माता- पता ने जो कई जगह को ज ह ने आ या मक जीवन हण का यास करना च हये ।
कया है इस कारण वह उ ह पसंद नह करता है .... उसे लगता है क
यह एक असामा य जीवन है । माता- पता धू पान नह करते, शराब शायद कोई आदशवाद से ो धत हो सकता है परंतु अपनी इस
नह पीते आ द - आ द । मनो च क सक ने जो हल नकाला वो ये था क आदशवाद सोच व आदत को नयं त रखकर आदशवाद को
ब चा अपने माता- पता के साथ नह रहना चाहता था । यथाथवाद के अनुकूल बनाना चा हये ।

एक योग व ाथ को इस उदाहरण से सीखना चा हये क योग का


अ यास खुद के ारा सहज प से शा तपूवक चालू रखना है । जब डॉ. जयदे व का लेख

जब तक हार न मान ल...
ह म कोई भी काय कर हमारी इं य या कम य क मदद के
बगैर नह हो सकता है, साथ ही मन का होना अ नवाय है परंतु
य द मन का साथ न हो तो कोई भी इं य अपना काम नभा नह
पाएगी । आशय यह है क हमारी सम त ग त व धय क धूरी मन ही है ।

शरीर केवल मन के अधीन काय करता है याने हर काय के स प होने म 99 ड ी बुखार हो गया तो वह तुरंत ब तर छोड़ कर ब चे क दे खभाल
शरीर व मन दोन का तालमेल होना ज री है । के लए स य हो जाती है । ब चे के त अथाह ममता ने उसके मन को
झकझोरा और वह तुरंत ए शन मोड म आ गई ।
ऐसा भी नह है क शरीर हर बार मन के इशारे का इंतजार ही करता रहे,
य द अचानक कोई घटना होती है तो शरीर सहज ही अपना बचाव करने कसी भी थ त-प र थती को हम कस तरह दे खगे, समझगे, काय
के लये तुरंत ए शन करता है करगे इसका नधारण भी मन
। जैसे ही आँख के पास कोई के ही ार होता है । मन म
तनका अया तो सहसा आँख जब नणय हो जाए क सुबह
बंद हो जाती है । वैसे ही य द 5 बजे क े न पकड़नी है तो
सामने से अचानक हमला हो सुबह 8 बजे जागने वाला
तो यकायक हाथ उसे रोकने भी नयत समय पर
उठ ही जाएगा न क वह मन जाग ही जाता है । मन एक
के आदे श का इंतजार करेगा अबूझ ताकत है, जसक
या यूं कह क यह सब णभर ऊपरी परत ही व ान अब

भा रत क सबसे ाचीन च क सा प त है आयुवद । इस


प त का योग 2000 से 5000 वष से भी पूव से हो
रहा है । आयुवद के अनुसार हमारा शरीर पंच महाभूत
से बना है – आकाश, वायु, अ न, पृ वी और जल ।
वात दोष – वात आकाश और वायु धातु से मलकर बना है । वात शरीर
क सभी को शका म पाया जाता है । इसक मा ा अलग-अलग हो
सकत है । यह मुख प से जोड़ , बड़ी आंत, कान क ह ी, कंधे क
मांसपे शय तथा पीठ के नचले ह से म होता है । रीढ़ क ह ी तथा
म त क म वात क मा ा यादा होती है ।
माना जाता है क इन भूत से तीन दोष क उ प होती है – वात, प
और कफ । आयुवद के अनुसार ये तीन ही (biological energies) वात का काय – सन, lymphatic system तथा जनन मुख
ह जो हर एक के मन और शरीर म उप थत होती है । काय ह ।

दोष या है ? वात कृ त वाले के ल ण – पतला शरीर, सूखी वचा एवं बाल,


अ थर वहार, सनक , सम या से नपटने क मता, उ साही ।
दोष एक कार क उजा है, जो हर एक म मौजूद होते ह । इनसे
उस क कृ त का पता चलता है । उसका वहार नधा रत होता असंतु लत वात – चता, नराशा, डरना, घबराहट, तनाव म रहना ।

प दोष – प अ न त व से मलकर बना है । प अथात् गम ,
ये दोष कभी भी थर नह रहते ह, हर समय बदलते रहते ह, ग तशील तेज़, उजा । यह भी शरीर क सभी को शका म पाया जाता है ।

इन तीन दोष के बीच संतुलन बनाए रखना अ य त आव यक है ।
अगर इनम लगातार प रवतन होते रहे या असुंतलन बना रहा तो प कृ त वाले के ल ण – गोरी चमकती वचा, संतु लत
रोगी हो जाता है । वहार, ताकतवर, सहनश , खुद को बेहतर समझना,
आलोचना मक कृ त, बु मान, गु सैल
कफ दोष – कफ पृ वी और जल महाभूत से मलकर बना है । कफ
छाती, जोड़ , जीभ और म त क क ेष झ ली म पाया जाता है । असंतु लत प – ोध, ई या, अधीरता
कफ शरीर को अ त र गम से छु टकारा दलाता है, य क यह शरीर
म नमी, सहनशीलता और श को बनाए रखता है । ये तीन ही हमारे शरीर म एक न त अनुपात म आव यक है । एक के
कम या अ धक होने पर शरीर म असंतुलन पैदा हो जाता है और हमारा
कफ कृ त वाले के ल ण – भारी वजन का शरीर, यादा न द शरीर अ व थ हो जाता है, इस लए इ ह दोष कहा जाता है ।
