Introduction
Use this information about the features of each platform to support discussion around slide 12.

● Collaboration means the ability to work together on the same document. Most platforms
allow this by connecting to online (cloud) software
● Communication means direct (instant messaging) or indirect (email) conversations or
message dissemination

Google Workspace
● Hangouts Chat – allows secure instant messaging
● Hangouts Meet – allows secure video and voice conferencing for up to 250 people, depending
on the package purchased
● Drive – remote storage, unlimited for all but the smallest package
● Calendar
● Gmail
● Docs – word processing
● Sheets – spreadsheets
● Slides – presentation builder
● Forms – survey builder
● Sites – website builder

These are some of the features of this platform. Also included are security and support to ensure your
documents are kept lawfully and to help prevent hacking risks.

Slack
● Stores messages, tools, and files
● Direct and indirect communication available
● Integrates with other collaboration tools, Google Drive for example, to allow file sharing
● Facilitates video calls
● Centralises all platforms used

CloudConnect
● Hosted Windows virtual desktop
● Stores files
● Easy to access

Evernote
● A cross-platform app
● Stores files
● Has a note-taking tool

Skype
● Conference calls
● Video calls
● Instant messaging
● Can be use to send and receive SMS messages
● Collaborate with others via file- and screen-sharing

Trello
● Project management app
● Live chat
● Colleague collaboration through indirect messaging
● Share files
● Other platforms can be added (this is called a Power-Up) so that documents can be worked on
at the same time as managing tasks in Trello

Cisco Webex
● Chat (instant messaging)
● Video calling/conferencing
● Calendar for task scheduling
● Whiteboard to take notes or share ideas collaboratively
● Stores files

Dropbox
● Can be used to share documents with colleagues
● Allows commenting on documents/files
● Stores files in one workspace
