• 34B. (1) No person shall—

• (a) place, deposit or dispose of, or

To ensure proper management of

wastes and to ensure that scheduled
wastes are handled at licensed facility.

Section 49: “competent person”

49A. (1) An owner or occupier of a premise shall employ a person who has been
certified by the Director General as a competent person to conduct all or any of the
following activities:

(a) the operation of a control equipment;

(b) the management of scheduled wastes;
(c) the conduct of studies;
(d) the preparation and submission of reports, plans, proposals, engineering drawings
or other documents relating to environmental matters.

(2) The reports, plans, proposals, engineering drawings or other documents relating to
environmental matters referred to in paragraph (1)(d) shall be prepared and submitted
by the competent person to the Director General.

 RUMUSAN
• Industries are encouraged to maximise the recycling & reutilization rate of
the scheduled waste generated

• It is an alternative solution for a holistic scheduled wastes management. It

is better to reutilize rather than sending them to landfills and incinerators

• However, not all scheduled wastes could be recycled or recovered due to

the wastes condition and the economical reason and factors. Thus it can
still be reutilized through coprocessing

• Reusing scheduled waste as alternative raw materials and alternative
fuels reduces dependence on natural resources.
• Explore reuse potential and provide guidelines that can help and
facilitate the involvement of industry players
Management At The International Level Involves The

• The dumping of waste imports in Malaysia will have an impact on the
Malaysian environment.

for the control of the importation of scheduled waste.
