While the anterior lumbar column approach has been documented to restore
sagittal balance and lumbar lordosis, careful movement and retraction of
vascular structures remains a surgical challenge.
The Phantom AL™ Anterior Lumbar Access System from TeDan Surgical
Innovations (TSI) has been engineered to deliver state-of-the-art structural
stability enabling surgeons to predictably retract critical vascular and
retroperitoneal structures.
"It is critical to embrace a fixed retractor system for anterior lumbar spine surgery to allow predictable,
reproducible, and safe spine exposure."
- Thomas Terramani, M.D.
Vascular Associates of San Diego
Two-Point Fixation
Articulating arms uniquely engineered for anterior lumbar surgery enable two-point fixation and structural stability
essential to confidently and predictably retract delicate vasculature and retroperitoneal structures from the anterior
lumbar column.
"The ability to flexibly deploy blades in a fixed or rotating position on-demand, not only saves
time during the access phase, but also ensures a reproducible and dependable surgical
corridor for the spine surgeon."
- Thomas Terramani, M.D.
Vascular Associates of San Diego
Tactile Adjustment of Blade Angulation
Angulation of retractor blades up to 30 degrees, in both
positive and negative directions, allows surgeons to
maximize exposure while maintaining miniaturization
of the incision and compensating for patient’s sacral
anatomy relative to the L5 vertebral body.
Low-Profile
The Phantom AL System assembly has a low-profile set-up, allowing unencumbered access to the patient. Thoughtfully
engineered articulating arms when used in combination with the Phantom AL Rotating Table Clamp, allow the surgeon
to adapt the system to varying patient demands and multi-level surgery.
Low-Impact
The intentional design of the Phantom AL Ring Clamp
allows engagement onto the retractor ring with ease,
preventing movement during surgery and undue strain
on the surgeon’s hands.

GENERAL SURGERY PROCEDURES
"With its general surgery retraction capabilities, the Phantom AL Access System is the product of choice for surgeons looking to
introduce greater value and return into their practice."
- Thomas Terramani, M.D.
Vascular Associates of San Diego
With the advent and continued focus on hospital cost containment, it is paramount to expand the utilization of an
access system beyond a single procedure or application use. Leverage the Phantom AL Anterior Lumbar Access System
to expand into general, urological, and gynecological surgery applications by combining the stability of the Phantom
AL Ring system assembly with a broad range of surgical blade designs.
Providing access surgeons with a holistic solution to perform not only anterior lumbar procedures but also other
common general surgery procedures is at the center of this cost efficiency mission. TSI, once again, elevates your
surgical practice with its eye on innovation and cost efficiencies.
