famous and well-preserved archaeological sites in the world.

 Machu Picchu was built in the 15th century by the Inca emperor Pachacuti and later abandoned during
the Spanish Conquest. It remained hidden from the outside world until its rediscovery in 1911 by
American historian and explorer Hiram Bingham.

agricultural terraces. The precision with which the stones were cut and placed without the use of mortar
continues to mystify archaeologists and engineers.

location, surrounded by lush green mountains, adds to the site's awe-inspiring beauty.

 In 1983, Machu Picchu was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognizing its cultural and
historical significance. It is also often referred to as the "Lost City of the Incas."

the Inca civilization and marvel at the ingenuity of ancient architectural and engineering practices.
