would like us to know about.

Learning new things and make them available to all,
Relating well with people of different culture and tribes. (5CHARRACTERS LEFT)
< Every area of Mathematics are important but I have a particular fondness for mathematical
modeling because of its application to real life situations: using numerical approximation of DEs to
solve real life problem such as: meteorological stations by developing a system which permits
reliable monitoring of climate changes, to manufacture a new product with higher quality, and to
come up with models on traffic flow among others would be a good platform on which to base a
career of my choice on.>(2-characters left)
The binary numeral system was widely known through Africa before much of the world.
Without trigonometry, there would be no pyramids. Innovations in science help us
communicate across the globe with ease through internet, cell phones etc. All of these
factors have led to availability of mathematical and scientific expertise, positively affecting
Africa’s development in education, industry, research, government, health, economy among
others. No doubt; mathematics is the backbone of modern Africa. (0-characters left)
(e) Highlight what you believe to be the most important issue facing your
country today. Please suggest possible solutions, for example economic,
education, health care, or social or public policy intervention, security.
Economic: Devaluation of Nigeria currency which resulted from low level of her Gross
Domestic Product. Nigeria has totally depended on crude oil as source of income neglecting
other means she had been using before. Government should avoid putting all her eggs in
one basket by diversifying her budget. Adopting the use of mathematics to understand the
complex nature of dependence of the economy to avoid policy failures, computational
social science and systems dynamics for business policy. >(39-characters left)
There was a time I had to make a decision that would affect the output of the organization I
was attached to as an Industrial Training student. Data were obtained from field work by
enumerators and presented to me to analyse. I thought seriously about the consequences of
any delay to the work. I decided to find a research on the use of SPSS software to analyse
the data and I arrived at a solution within a week which produced the best result ever,
seeing the benefit a new approach can give. (6 characters left)
TRAIT 2
a) Please name a person or movement that has inspired you and describe how this has
affected your life
<I was inspired by a lecturer. He’s not from computer science background instead he
learned some programming languages and software packages for data analysis. All these
were the hidden criteria for head selection in his Department unknowing to the staff. All
these requirements were enough for him to get himself placed as the Head of his
Department and later appointed as Industrial Training Director. Immediate reward doesn't
matter, a new approach can fetch us a letter benefit. >(19-characters left)
(b) Describe any previously held leadership position, activities, or experiences: (i.e.

with you to achieve your goals while managing is more about administering and making
sure the day-to-day things are happening as they should. Faith creates room for good
things to happen. Should be able to tell the truth about his/her dealings and makes his/her
vision manifest. (134 character left)

Great leaders are honest and transparent, and have high integrity--they do what they say they are
going to do, and they walk their talk.
Leader requires not only excellent analytical abilities, but also above-average people skills.

h). Do you have serious interests in or aspirations to working in industry immediately after
graduating from AIMS? If your answer is "yes," please describe your interests.
Haven gone through world class training at AIMS, I will be interested in adopting the use of
mathematics to understand the complex nature of dependence of industrial problems to avoid
policy failures, computational social science and systems dynamics for business policy. One of
these is the theory of differential equations to manufacture new products of high qualities also an
advancement in financial mathematics will be used in choosing the optimal portfolio when
investing. (19 character left)
i). Please provide a statement detailing your personal career goals and where you
see yourself in 5-10 years' time.
My career plan in mathematical field has been in me right from my childhood, going by the
way I got trained at home and personal development on proper way to handle funds and
making better use of it. All these widen my horizon to study Mathematics at Bachelor’s
degree level, proceed to Master’s degree and to be an expert in the field of study by
proceeding to Ph.D. so as to get involved in teaching and researching in Mathematics for
development of Africa. This I wish to get myself involved in.(2characters left)
j). What motivates you to apply for this programme? How do you expect to benefit
from studying at AIMS?
AIMS recruits talented African Students and Lecturers from various countries giving room
for a long term working relationship among them which helps not only to learn
mathematics but also culture. Keeping to regulations, students lecturers sharing spaces
within twenty- four hours learning environment, a climate of highly interaction teaching
where students are encouraged to learn together through questioning and discovery,
emphasis on computational methods and computing with access to internet. (O-character
