Torbcraft Mod Guide

This is a guide to help you understand how some of the mods work that are used by most
players on Torbcraft. This guide will include how to set up those mods, what features are
useful from those mods, what versions of mods are compatible with what versions of your
Minecraft instance.

To install any mods, just download the mod from the link that will get mentioned and put it
in your mods folder that you can access by pressing Win+R and then typing “%appdata%”
and hit OK. Once there, navigate to ‘.minecraft’ folder and there you will find a “mods”
folder and copy the downloaded file in there. If the folder isn’t there, you can just create a
new folder with the name “mods” and that will work as well.

P.S. If you’re using any external launchers or modifiers like MultiMC or Essential, then the
path for the mods folder will vary.

The mods that are usually used by your fellow Torbcrafters are:
• Sodium
• Lithium
• Tweakaroo
• Iris
• Voice Chat

Keep in mind that some of these mods also require dependent libraries, so hold your
rockets for a little longer!
Now that you have set up your mod folder, let’s dive in the features of each mods.

• The mods Sodium and Lithium are performance mods so you don’t need much info
on that.

• For the mod Iris, this is a mod that you can use shaders without using Optifine
(which is incompatible with Sodium and Lithium, so this mod acts as a replacement
for that feature from Optifine). To install shaders, put the downloaded shaderpack in
folder “shaderpacks” in the ‘.minecraft’ folder. Some of the useful keybinds for the
mod are

o K = To enable and disable shaders directly without going in the config menu.
o You can also tweak a lot of things in the config menu of the mod that can be
accessed from the Shaders tab inside Video Settings of in-game settings.
Those tweaks are shader dependent so you’ll have to mess around with them
yourself.
• For the mod Tweakaroo, that mod is helpful if you want to get free cam (this allows
you to detach from your player and spectate things in the rendered chunks, basically
spectator mode in simple terms) and view the contents of a shulker box directly
from your inventory, instead of placing it down and then picking it back up. To
enable these, follow the following steps-

o Free Cam: Press “X+C”, this will bring up the config menu of the mod, then
click on ‘Tweak Hotkeys’ tab.

There you’ll find a search thing, once you click on that search “freecam” and
then you see the option “tweakFreeCamera”, there you can set a hotkey for
that option and then you can exit the config and use that key to
enable/disable Free Cam.

o Shulker Display: Open the config menu and navigate to ‘Tweak Toggles’ tab
and then search “shulker” then you’ll see the option
‘tweakShulkerBoxDisplay’ and click on the ‘false’ tab beside it, once it is set to
‘true’ exit the config. To see this in action, hover over one of the shulker
boxes that has items in it in your inventory and hold shift and you’ll see the
magic!
• For the mod Voice Chat, you can talk to other players either by making a group or by
being in the proximity of other players, be careful cause if you travel far enough, you
won’t be able to hear them. To access the config menu, simply press V key, then
you’ll be greeted by this menu-

The only options you’re gonna be using from this window are those microphone and
speaker icons, that you can use to mute/unmute and deafen/undeafen respectively.
The other option you’re gonna be using is the ‘Group’ button where you can create
groups for people to join, you can either make public groups or private ones that
require a password to enter.
The next option you can check is the ‘Settings’ once you click on that, you get
introduced to this window-

o The only options you’re gonna be focusing on are the ‘Adjust player volumes’
that you can use to adjust volumes of specific players for better engagement.
o The next options you’re gonna be using are ‘Select microphone’ and ‘Select
speaker’ which you can use to select your headsets as the input and output
device.
