This scrapbook project submitted by Ken Lewis U. Abacahin to Mrs. Grace Villaroya contains definitions of important mathematical terms including: factors, multiples, greatest common factor (GCF), least common multiple (LCM), prime and composite numbers, fractions (proper, improper, mixed), similar and dissimilar fractions, decimals, and place value. The scrapbook provides concise explanations of these foundational mathematical concepts.

FACTORS – A number or algebraic expression that divides another number or expression evenly with no remainder.
MULTIPLES- A multiple is the product of any
quantity and an integer.
GCF - The Greatest Common Factor or divisor of two
or more integers, which are not all zero, is the largest positive integer that divides each of the integers. LCM - Stands for Least Common Multiple. The least common multiple of two numbers is the smallest number that is a multiple of both of them.
Prime and Composite numbers - Prime number is a
number which has exactly two factors '1' and the number itself. A composite number has more than two factors, which means apart from getting divided by 1 and the number itself, it can also be divided by at least one positive integer.
FRACTION - A fraction is used to represent the
portion/part of the whole thing.
PROPER FRACTION – A fraction whose numerator is
less than the denominator.
IMPROPER FRACTION - A fraction in which the
numerator is greater than the denominator, such as 7/4.
MIXED FRACTION - It is a form of a fraction which is
defined as the ones having a fraction and a whole number. DISSIMILAR FRACTION - Two or more fractions are called dissimilar or unlike fractions if they have different denominator.
SIMILAR FRACTION – Are fractions with the same
denominators and dissimilar fractions are fractions with different denominators.
DECIMAL - Are one of the types of numbers, which
has a whole number and the fractional part separated by a decimal point.
PLACE VALUE - The value represented by a digit in a
number on the basis of its position in the number.
READING AND WRITING - When you read numbers,
use place value, or the value of a digit based on its position in the number, to read the number from left to right.
