10. Calculate : (i) total resistance and (ii) total current in the following circuit.
R 1 = 3 , R 2 = 6 , R 3 = 5 , V = 14V

11. A piece of platinum wire has resistance of 2.5  0o C . If its temperature coefficient of resistance
is 4  10 −3 / o C . Find the resistance of the wire at 80o C .

12. Calculate the frequency in MHZ of a radio wave of wavelength 250 m. Remember that the speed
of all EM waves in vacuum is 3  108 m / s.

13. A TV tower has a height of 200 M. How much population is covered by TV transmission if the
average population density around the tower is 1000/ km 2 ?

14. What is P-N junction? Explain construction and working of P-N junction.

15. A network of resistors is connected to a 15 V battery with internal resistance 1 as shown in the
circuit diagram.
(i) Calculate the equivalent resistance,
(ii) Current in each resistor,
(iii) Voltage drops VAB , VBC and VDC .

16. Derive an expression for magnetic field at an arbitrary point (r) due to a short bar magnet?
