 INTRODUCTION

The primary objective of elaborate homework is the opportunity for the student to

practice and reinforce the different academic subjects, which teaches skills such as: time

management, responsibility, perseverance, and discipline; on the other hand, it strengthens

autonomous work and the development of study techniques at home.

Benefits of homework:

There are multiple benefits of homework, in addition to reinforcing the topics developed

in class, it is the generation of habits and a positive attitude towards learning.

Although they are a great contribution to the intellectual development of children, certain related

rules must be established according to their age, their level, and the amount of time they remain

in the educational center. Developing skills such as creativity and other aspects that are

reinforced when homework is done; additionally, promoting study habits, organizing time,

therefore discipline and commitment. Constancy and dedication to homework will result in

academic benefits.

For the reasons described above, it is necessary to promote a sense of "responsibility"

with the fact of assigning homework, including small domestic tasks, taking advantage of these

moments to stimulate positive behaviors in their development. Another important benefit in the

elaboration of the school assignments at home is the strengthening of the capacity of the

"organization" that can be useful in the different fields, academic, work, and personal. Another
and no less important aspect is the encouragement of “autonomy”. The independence to identify

more easily what is needed and how it can be organized to achieve the proposed goal.

In summary, the benefits of doing homework at home, offers the opportunity that parents are

involved in the learning process of their children, it encourages discipline, and provides more

time to complete the learning process.

 ROLE OF PARENTS IN SCHOOL TASKS

The role of parents is extremely important and ranges from the identification of

preferences in terms of academic subjects, which of them present the greatest difficulties. We

can observe that most of the time the children are at school, there are activities that must be

carried out at home with the support of the parents, thus taking advantage of the time to improve

communication and the relationship between them; In this same sense, parents will be able to

identify strengths and weaknesses which will generate moments to collaborate in the education

of their children.

Gaille (2018) describes that nowadays parents work full time every day. Around 60

percent of married parents have both working. In the case of single-parent households, contact

between parents and children can be only 2-3 hours a day. Homework allows parents to offer

their wisdom and knowledge to their children, which offer a common benefit for everyone. Not

only is the message transmitted, but each homework opportunity is also an opportunity for

parents and children to build stronger relationships.

homework can involve parents in children's lives. Parents who help children with

homework keep them engaged in academic success and allow parents to monitor

how their children are doing in school. It can also be an opportunity to bond.
 IT ENCOURAGES DISCIPLINE

Developing homework with a discipline supposes an ability to control behavior, motivate

oneself and be interested in the tasks with the necessary effort to achieve the proposed objective.

Guille (2018) explains that that repeating the same activities day after day is not exactly

something very exciting for conventional people; however, it is a way to improve our abilities or

discover a new vocation. Homework is an opportunity to create habits and discipline throughout

our lives.

When students face homework they must acquire a work method, this is a discipline in

their way of proceeding that facilitates learning and homework of concepts. Knowing how to

create a work method that allows you to take advantage of your effort, will allow you to achieve

greater performance and, of course, discipline habits that will contribute to the achievement of

the proposed objectives.

The results of discipline can become more satisfying than a score or to get a subject, we

can see in everyday examples, athletes or scientists who have great achievements, it is because

discipline has overcome talent.

 PROVIDES MORE TIME TO COMPLETE THE LEARNING PROCESS

Homework offers a way to increase the time students spend learning. The idea of most

homework is to encourage students to practice what they have learned in the classroom. The

mastery of any activity requires practice, starting with the initial grades of primary education in

learning to read and write. In equal circumstances, students will learn more if they dedicate more

time to learning and practicing the knowledge acquired through the development of school tasks.

Guille (2017) argues time for homework in high school is not enough, student need more time to

correctly understand basis knowledge. Is students can create specific homework that take all the

deficiencies and inconsistencies of the learning, which is possible to minimize effects on the

shortage of time. Despite the previous premises, discussions and controversies have been

generated about extra study time at home through excessive homework that makes the student

lose motivation and the sense that these can generate benefits in the learning process.

of homework, they will not have enough opportunity to play, which could have a consequence

on their social learning and growth. According to research, kids who play more show better in

school because it helps them focus more on class. Children have spent a long time sitting in

schools, and homework only keeps adding to these hours. Sedentism is dangerous and can lead

to health problems such as obesity. Homework consume time that could be spent exercising. In

contrast, habits and discipline is a way in which we can encourage children to lead an organized

and successful life, such as a support tool in the learning process and an integral bridge between

family communication, school, and friends. In a healthy environment, great opportunities can be

obtained for the future of children.

 CONCLUSIONS

Even though homework has been discredited as a strong word for children, it really is a

great tool in the learning process, not only for children it is good, but also for parents it is

beneficial in different aspects of family life. It reduces in some measure the time spent in excess

in leisure, helps to improve the learning process and encourages discipline as a healthy habit in

school life.

It is important to highlight that the development of homework should not occupy all the

free time of the students, this can generate anxiety, general fatigue, and conflict with the parents,

since this makes the relationship between them difficult, so their support becomes punishment

and mandatory, which does not contribute to forming good study habits, generating rejection of

compliance with school tasks.
