Course structure: 2 semesters

Course main objectives:  acquisition of sports specific vocabulary

 developing English for Academic Purposes skills

1st Semester Course Content: Specialist terminology: sports (names, branches, classes,
events, areas, abilities, skills, equipment), the human body (main segments,
vital organs, skeletal framework, skeletal muscles, joints, connective tissue,
sensory functions, systems, physiological processes), physical exercise
(postures, movements, types of exercises, pieces of equipment), injuries
(general and sport-specific injuries, symptoms) and nutrition (ways of eating,
types of food, types of diet, nutrients, types of figure).
EAP elements: definition, physical description, description of a process,
comparison and contrast, classification, exemplification and giving instructions

Evaluation

1st semester: written examination, project presentation, course attendance (you are allowed to be
absent from synchronous meetings 3 times), assignment completion
2nd semester English Language Proficiency Exam
