1. The main points of the introduction to the article “How quickly is the English language
changing?” is that languages change. The text is pointing out to the music which changed
over the years like the language is changing itself. But not only the language is changing, but
also phrases of the language and patterns of it. It is also mentioned that the English language
changed from the 1350 to 1700, what is also called the period as The Great Vowel Shift. That
means that the pronunciation changed and therefore there was a gap between the spelled and
the spoken word. The language changing was happening unnoticed of the users back at that
time. The text says that this could not happen anymore, because nowadays linguists would
notice and analyse every language change that is happening.

2. Like English German also undergone a language change. Similar to the English in
Germany also happened a Vowel Shift in the language: from Middle High German to New
High German. The last impact that the German Language Change had is the strong influence
of the English language has on it. More words from the English Vocabulary find their way
into the German.

3. The change of language is inevitable, because the language itself is just a tool for people to
communicate. If people are developing different needs or different ways of living, they need
different tools than in the past. The same is happening to the language. It has to be flexible
and changed according to the people´s needs.
