JUNIOR CORE SELECTIONS AY' 23-24
Roles of a Junior Core

Managing Hostel and Student Affairs domains.


Providing logistical assistance in all events, workshops, and any other SAC activities.
Bridging the gap between the students and authorities & acting as a mediator between
the two regarding any matters pertaining to the hostel and student affairs.
Assist students in their hostel life and cater to their grievances. Implementing initiatives
and bringing newer amenities in IPM Hostels to enhance the quality of IPM life.
Ensuring the quality of water, electricity, etc being provided to the IPM students

Major Logistical Tasks

Bookings: Classrooms, Old Auditorium, New Auditorium, Amphitheater, Cricket


Stadium, etc.
Acquiring zoom links for events and ensuring smooth usage for the same.
Procurement of any other logistical apparatus as and when required such as firewood
(for Bonfire), Speakers, Projectors, etc.
Ensuring timely replacement and fixing of inventories to avoid inconvenience to the IPM
community.

Role in the functioning of Hostels

We have facilitated the hostel allotment and stay in conjunction with the Hostel Office in
the past, and will continue to do so in the coming future.
Collection of roommate preference and conveying the same to the Hostel Office in due
time for allotment of rooms when arriving on campus.
Liaising with the Hostel Office to solve housing problems and crises if and when they
arise.
Repair and maintenance of hostel apparatus.
Assistance in personal level (own room) repairs using TCSiON for students.

Past Initiatives

Common Room - Available for usage for the entire community.


Projector - Setup, currently under repair.
TT Table - Situated in the Common Room.
Coffee Machine - Available - To be Setup.
Major Department Interactions

CAO & CAO Office - Communications with the CAO regarding a wide range of
infrastructural permissions.
IPM Office & Sumit Sir - Permissions for acquiring zoom links for various events.
Sports Complex -
1) Permission for Old Audi, New Audi, Events Court, Banquet Hall and Amphitheatre.
2) Permitting the use of Sounds and Light Room
3) Issuing podium, projector, wireless/wired/podium/collar mics, stand, aux cables & rooms
to store inventory safely.
4) Permission for backstage, green room.
Hostel & Student’s Affairs -
1) Cloakroom Facilities & Boxes when students are leaving campus.
2) Permissions for Treasure Hunt and any other events we conduct/collaborate in.
3) Permissions regarding any new projects/initiatives/inventory.
4) Hostel Room Allocation arrangements.
Hostel Office - Coordination regarding maintenance of hostels and hostel allocation.
Hostel Reception Centre (SR-1 & Acad Block) -
1) Deals with issues regarding hostel rooms, classroom, cloakrooms and their keys.
2) Allotment of rooms and providing keys.
3) Collection of keys when student’s leave rooms/campus.
4) Issuing of keys for cloakrooms, store rooms, old and new auditorium.
Outsource Department -
1) Permissions regarding Cricket Stadium and its amenities.
2) Issuing miscellaneous items such as photoshoot stairs.
Maintenance Department -
1) Communications regarding fixing of hostel inventories (plumbing, carpentry, electrical).
2) Availing pest control as and when required.
Transport Office - Arrangement for transport of students and inventory for both internal
and external requirements.
IT Department - For problems regarding institute wifi or lan services & setting up new
routers.
Safety, Security Department & Security Gate - For permissions regarding vendor entry
and issuing of fire safety protocols and personnel for bonfires.
Facility Office - For issuing classrooms and Old Auditorium.
Audio & Visual Department - Obtaining MTS Staff assistance and resolving issues
regarding Mics, Speakers & Projectors.

Kindly note that the number of departments and offices is sufficient yet not limited to the
above stated ones only. Occasional interaction with other offices and departments may also
be required at various instances.
What are we looking for ?

Spontaneity in both response and action.


Thorough understanding of the IPM Infrastructure Committee & Hostel Manual
guidelines and protocols.
Capable of undertaking calm and rational decision-making at all times.
Effective communication skills - in regards to both authority and student body
Hardworking and dedicated in ensuring the smooth functioning of IPM life.
