“Pandemic changed managers' mind
on part-time workers”

This article points out that part-time
work is looked upon more now since
the pandemic. Due to the pandemic as
effect on businesses, those who stayed
part-time and those who chose to be
demoted to part-time managers have
kept the company going. By promoting
part-time work more people applied
and were hired including those who are
retired and those with disabilities.
Managing part-time employees has
always been under demand. Most
managers believe that it's more difficult
to manage many part-time employees
and that it costs too much. The entire
plan to switch to having more part-time
employees was to make more flexible
work based on demand patterns. This
was in favor of the businesses and their
employees, for those full-time
employees that work a little less than

balance. This included adding work-

The main point of this article is that
because many businesses cut hours due
to Covid-19, hours were reduced and
part-time positions became more
efficient. This decision has ultimately
had more success than intended but

managers have made it work. Due to
the increase in part-time jobs, many
people have been positively affected. I
feel as though since part-time jobs are
now the new thing it should still be
enough hours given for employees to
make a good living. I’m glad more
women are involved in the work field
and are seeking more manager
positions. The pandemic nor work hour
cut back should have been the reason
though. The article did an excellent job
highlighting how company managers
handle more part-time employees. My
job itself has eliminated full-time
positions and more people are applying
and filling the part-time ones.
For the longevity of the company and
the employees, many more companies
should invest in more part-time
positions for growth to occur.
