Aztec houses varied in size and materials.

● The common ones were made of adobe, wood


and straw.

● Those of the upper classes used stone and


lime. They were one or two stories high.
WHAT THEY HUNTED
The Aztecs practiced hunting as an
important way to obtain food
complementary to their agriculture-based
diet. They hunted:

o Deer

o rabbits

o Birds

o Fish
WHO THEY ADORED

The Aztec religion was polytheistic,


meaning they worshiped multiple gods.

Priests played an important role in


performing religious ceremonies and
interpreting cosmic events.
WHERE THEY SETTLED
The Aztecs settled in Mexico Tenochtitlan
in the center of the Valley of Mexico,
expanding their control to city-states
located in the present-day states of:
Mexico, Morelos, Veracruz, Guerrero,
Puebla, Oaxaca; the coast of Chiapas and
Hidalgo.
