Acts 1:6-11

Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the
kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father
has set by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on
you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends
of the earth.” 9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him
from their sight. 10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly
two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand
here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will
come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

1. If you want changes in your life, don’t become impatient instead trust God’s timetable.

Isaiah 55:8-9

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my
thoughts than your thoughts.

a. Waiting is sometimes part of God’s plan


b. We need God’s timing and power to be truly effective.
- Are you waiting and listening for God’s complete instruction? Or are you running ahead of
His plan?

2. If you believe in Jesus Christ as your savior, you can experience the power of the Holy
Spirit in your life.

b. Boldness
c. Confidence
d. Insight
e. Desire
f. Ability
g. Authority
3. God has important work for you to do for Him.

a. But you must do it by the power of the Holy Spirit.


Colossians 4:6

to answer everyone.”

4. Make sure that you are contributing in some ways to the ever-widening circle of God’s
loving message.

a. We should be ready with His sudden return not standing around.


b. But by working hard to share the good news.

1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give
yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not
in vain.”
