INSTAGRAM

It was launched in 2010 by North American Kevin Systrom and Brazilian Mike
Krieger, both software engineers. On the same day of launch, the app became
the most downloaded app on the Apple Store, and by December of the same
year, it had 1 million users
In early 2011, the app focused on photos. The main idea was to create a site to
upload the photos we took from our iPhone phones (it was first born for iOS and
would later make the leap to Android)
In 2015, already acquired by Mark Zurenberg, the app changed the interface,
seeking not only for the user to upload their photos but also to consume the
content of other users. The famous “explore” section appears, which will allow
us to find any type of content.
In 2016, the app focuses on video, after Mark Zurenberg’s failed attempt to buy
Snapchat, Instagram decided to implement its famous Stories. There is a lot of
talk about how this movement must have affected the company Snapchat,
which today has been completely relegated.
In 2018, the app launched its own long-form video system, with the appearance
of IGTV.
Three years later, Instagram launched itself into e-commerce, the power to
make purchases directly from the application, discover new people to follow
who recommend products to buy and do it without any problem. The app is
enjoying a moment of glory, despite the appearance of Tik Tok in the gaming
system, with new features such as Reels, such as the integration of Facebook
Messenger chat with Instagram Direct Messages,… (and it is already works on
WhatsApp integration too)
