 HISTORY
It all starts with an app called Burbn, which allowed
users to check into places, share plans, and upload
photos. Systrom and Krieger decided to simplify Burbn
and focus on the photo sharing function, adding filters
and other editing options. Instagram launched on
October 6, 2010 for iOS and was immediately
successful, reaching over 25,000 users on the first day.
In 2012, Facebook bought Instagram for $1 billion,
which was one of the largest acquisitions in the history
of the Internet.
 CREATORS
The creators of Instagram are Kevin Systrom and Mike
Krieger, two software engineers who met at Stanford
University. The reason they created Instagram was to
simplify a previous app they had developed called
Burbn, which allowed users to check into places, share
plans, and upload photos.
He is 40 years old and lives in San Francisco,
California, with his wife Nicole Schuetz and daughter
Freya.
Mike Krieger was born on March 4, 1986 in São Paulo,
Brazil. He is currently 38 years old and lives in San
Francisco, California, with his wife Kaitlyn Trigger

Instagram is a very popular social media application
that allows you to share photos and videos with your
friends, family and followers. Some people think that
Instagram is the best social media app because it has an
intuitive and easy-to-use interface, regularly adds new
features, has a wide range of filters, allows cross-
posting on other platforms, and its content is more
engaging than the from other platforms.
