Inclusion Project Proposal for

Shreeta Ambekar
at
Wisdom Matters, Pune

1. What do you want to do in your project

I am conducting my API sessions with a group of middle-aged men (approx. 40-50 years).
They currently reside with younger and similar aged group people with differing mental and
behavioural issues, where they have their own set of differences with them. Along with this
significant resistance and hesitation towards new experiences and interactions is observed.
This inclusion project would consist of me conducting sessions of my beneficiaries with
multiple experiential groups and individuals.
 Other in-patients at the centre (different clinical diagnosis)
 Staff and Counsellors of the organisation
 Theatre group
 Trained classical dancers
 Artists

2. What aim do you want to achieve?

The aim of the project would be:
a. To create opportunities for the beneficiaries to have varied learning
experiences empowering them to expand their social world.
b. To observe and understand the beneficiaries’ interactions with people outside
their comfort circles and note their responses to new experiences.
c. To help the beneficiaries develop group cohesion and emotional sensitivity
with different groups.

3. How will you do it?

Keeping in mind that the limitations of space and location of the beneficiaries, the sessions
will take place in the following formats:
4 API sessions will be conducted with the beneficiaries and different groups or individuals at
Wisdom Matters, Pune, every month, mostly using forms of play, movement and music,
depending on varied groups and individuals.
Targeted Goals:
i. Other inpatients - team work and group cohesiveness
ii. Staff and counsellors - emotional sensitivity and conflict resolution.
iii. Other groups like, theatre groups, classical dancers and other artists -
group inclusion, emotional perception and regulation.
