AP PSYCHOLOGY 2015-2016

BIOLOGICAL UNIT EXAM

SECTION II: FRQ

Time - 20 minutes
Number of questions - 1

Section II contains one FRQ. Write your answer clearly with a pen, preferably one
with black or dark blue ink. Be sure to write CLEARLY and LEGIBLY. Cross out any
errors you make. Do not skip lines.

Use this page to organize your answer. You MUST make your TDA chart on this page
and check off each task as it is completed!

REMEMBER: All answers must be in complete sentences. Think D-N-A…define the

term and apply it to the prompt. The clearer you are with DNA or TDA, the easier it
will be for your assessor to score your answer. Underlining terms will allow your
assessors to better see you have addressed each point. We are all human....a happy
assessor could mean a better score. :-)

1. You are talking quietly with some of your friends at a restaurant

when, all of a sudden, a new student at your school, Dave, sits down
at your table. Dave immediately starts to tell a loud, funny story to
everyone at the table while he gobbles French fries from your plate.

Use the following theories to explain or describe aspects of Dave’s

behavior and personality.

 Reaction formation
 Trait theory
 Maslow’s hierarchy of needs
 Reciprocal determinism
 ID
 Adler’s Inferiority Complex
 Locus of control

For an extra credit point:

Explain how Carl Rogers’ theory of unconditional positive regard

would help Dave feel more comfortable and make friends at his new
school.
