Concept & Meaning
• The learner centred curriculum puts
emphasis on the maximum growth of
the pupil.
• With emotional involvement of pupils
in learning, the whole learning
process would become more vivid
and valuable.
• Role of the teacher : In student centred curriculum, teacher is
mainly a facilitator.
• Evaluation : Students are assessed for how they learn and not merely
by what they have learned.
• The most important purpose of assessment and evaluation is to improve student
learning.
• Assessment and evaluations are important tools for designing curriculum and
instructional approaches as per need of students.
• Both Formative and Summative assessments are necessary to evaluate students
performance.
• Feedback is also essential.
Use of Grading in Assessment
☞ Grading is used to evaluate and provide feedback on student work.
☞Grading in education refers to classification of students into a few
graded categories according to their level of achievement in examination in
every subject of student

☞ Grades can be assigned as letters (A to E).


☞ Grading system was developed by William Farish.
☞ Grading system was first implented by the University of Cambridge in
1792.
