Functional Tests Using External AC Power
Vacuum Measurement Check and Vacuum Build Test
Use canister for this test. Attach the pressure gauge to the patient tube.
NOTE: Refer to attached table for minimum high vacuum limits at
higher altitudes.
Limits have been adjusted for vacuum gauge accuracy.
Set LSU vacuum selector to 200 mmHg (26.6 kPa).
Check and record that LSU is regulating with external vacuum gauge ☐l ☐l
20 reading between 172 and 228 mmHg: Gauge reading: _________ mmHg
nmr

Check that LSU is indicating 200 mmHg vacuum.

☐l ☐l
Set LSU vacuum selector to 500+ mmHg (66.6+ kPa)
Check that the LSU reaches external vacuum gauge reading of at least ☐l ☐l
21 492 mmHg at sea level. Gauge reading: __________ mmHg
nmr

Check that LSU is indicating at least 475 mmHg vacuum.

(The upper LED may be off to pass, the second can be at half intensity.) ☐l ☐l
Air Flow
Attach the flow meter directly to the suction inlet, without using a
canister. Limits have been adjusted for flow meter accuracy.
