Exercise 1: Globalization without Media

Instruction: Write an argumentative essay preserving your stand on the topic:


Globalization does not need media for global integration.
Globalization is the term used to describe the increasing interconnectedness of the
world's economies, cultures, and populations. Media has a significant influence on
globalization in two ways that are mutually interdependent. Technology facilitates
the worldwide spread of media, resulting in cultural interchange and connectedness
across nations. The mass media will help in the promotion of the cultural exchange
idea. Media are commonly utilized for communication, negotiation, promotion, and
politics.

Digital media is now available as a kind of media. You can view a website from
anywhere as long as you have access to the internet.
Exercise 2: Asian Music and Globalization

Instruction: Pick an Asian musical artist or group that became internationally


famous. Answer the following questions:
Artist:BTS
1. Where did the musical artists originate?
-In South Korea.
2. In which countries did the musical artists became famous?
-In South Korea.
3. How did the artist become famous?
- A K-pop (or Korean pop) group made up of seven members - Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM,
Jimin, V and Jungkook - who come from all over South Korea. They launched in 2013
and have since rocketed to global stardom. Over the years, the group have produced
material around various themes starting with the 'School' trilogy.
4.Why do you think the artists became famous?
The musical abilities of the members of BTS made it possible for the idols that make up
the K-Pop group to become so popular, in each comeback we saw them present new
and attractive concepts, but another important point that led them to this level
of fame is the power of his fandom.

Exercise 3: What Religion are you in


Instruction: Out of the different religions in the world (Christianity, Buddhism,
Hinduism, Islam, Judaism), choose one and surf the web and research the
history and then describe the following:
Christianity
1.The religion’s concept of good:
The concept of good in Christianity and Catholicism. More than any other aspect of
Christianity-Catholicism, the Fathers approached the concept of good from the
standpoint of hermeneutics rather than from a philosophical standpoint. According
to the Roman Catholic Church, God is all-good and all-perfect.

2.The religion’s concept of evil:


Natural evil, such as natural disasters, diseases, or birth defects, is distinguished
from moral evil, or human action that causes pain and suffering to others, such as
genocide, war, cruelty, exploitation, and abuse. Many Christians believe that moral
evil stems from rebellion against God, which causes injustice, vanity, pride,
dishonesty, aggression, violence, greed, and other negative behaviors.

3. The step need by a person to become good and prevent himself/ herself from
becoming evil:

There are two major steps that a person must take in order to become good and
avoid becoming evil. The first step is to always pray to God. One of the most
important things we can do to keep ourselves from becoming evil is to pray to our
God on a daily basis. We all know and have experienced the power of prayer. Prayer
boosts our self-esteem, grants us wisdom, and provides us with the peace of mind to
control our negative emotions, which cause us to become evil.

Exercise 4: Globalization and Religion


Instruction: In the present trend of globalization in which you and everybody in the
world is affected, discuss how globalization affected your religious beliefs
and practices?
-- I would say that globalization has had no effect on my religious practices because I
do not follow the other practices of the Catholic Church, such as going to church
every Sunday, and because I do it in our home.
