    Hi, good afternoon everyone at home, back again with me Tegap Martin Siahaan.

    This morning we have a very worrying new variant virus that has emerged outside of Africa.
    Scientists in South Africa identified a new virus, omicron, which was also found in other South
    African countries and spread to Israel, Hong Kong and other countries. Israel and Hong Kong warn
    that this infectious variant may be more resistant to vaccines because it has a high number of
    mutations. This variant has two characteristics that we are most concerned about, namely high
    transmissibility and some degree of immunity escapes from several countries including the UK
    immediately bans travel from South Africa and other countries. Others in the area vaccinated
    travelers from there are currently allowed into the US after the Biden Administration lifted overseas
    travel restrictions earlier this month. Daily infections have now increased by at least 10 percent in 35
    states since the average last week New cases jumped 18 percent of hospitalizations nationwide by 6
    percent.

    Next, we will discuss the chronology of Omicron's entry into Indonesia

    Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin confirmed that the COVID-19 variant of the omicron virus
    was confirmed to have entered Indonesia. a worker from 3 workers who were confirmed positive for
    covid 19 at Wisma Atlet, Kemayoran, Jakarta, had the omicron variant of covid-19. The chronology of
    the worker with the initial N confirmed by Omicron during a routine inspection of the Wisma Atlet
    Emergency Hospital, Wednesday 8 December 2021

    N and 2 other workers confirmed positive that the three were then isolated separately. Friday,
    December 10, 2021, 52 specimens, including N's, were sent to BalitBangkes. On the same day,
    patient N's follow-up swab results were negative and his condition was still asymptomatic. The
    follow-up PCR results for both patient N still stated negative with asymptomatic body condition. On
    Sunday, December 13, 2021, however, Wednesday, December 15, 2021, the results of Whole
    Genome Sequencing (WGS) from the Ministry of Health's Balitbang showed that patient N was
    confirmed positive. The Ministry of Health immediately took specimens for re-WGS with an in-depth
    study from the epidemiologist regarding this case, and Thursday morning, December 16, 2021, the
    Minister of Health announced regarding the confirmation of the first omicron in Indonesia, patient N
    is the job of House Keeping at the emergency hospital Wisma Atlet Kemayoran, he has received 2
    vaccines Sinovac but has not received the Booster vaccine, it is suspected that he contracted it from
    one of the people who are isolated at the Wisma Atlet because he has no history of traveling abroad.
