Hydrological Survey Works for Engineering

Services for Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit

(MRT) East-West Line Project (Phase 1)

1.1. UNDERSTANDING OF WORK

1.1.1. Objectives

The objective of the Hydrological Survey is to obtain necessary data for the Project
hydrological survey and this document shall be applied to the flood inundation study
work for the Engineering Service for Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) East-West
Line Project (Phase1). The data obtained will be incorporated into the planning and
design of the civil and architectural structures and the railway facilities in the Project.

1.1.2. Scope Of Work

The scope of work for this hydrological survey includes, among others, surveys on
floods and inundations that have occurred through questionnaires and interviews with
residents who have been affected, geometric surveys, surveys of river flow velocity,
and others.
a. Preparatory work
b. Survey of Historical Flood Record: 580 nos
c. Study of Probable Flood Water Level
d. Summarization of Drainage System
e. Study of Probable Water Level in MRT East-West Line Project : 3 location
In addition, the historical flood record at 3 rivers of Cideng River, BKB Flood Control,
and BKT Flood Control is shown in Figures 1.3. to Figure 1.5. respectively.

1.1.3. Location Work Area

As TOR in the Contract, the survey area covers 21 stations (13 elevated stations and
8 underground stations), 2 transition sections (Grogol station to Roxy station and
Galur station to Cempaka Baru station), 2 substations, and 1 depot area.
The location of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta, East-West Line is shown in the
figure below :

1.2. OVERVIEW OF THE OUTLINE OF THE REPORT

The systematics of the Job Interim Report Hydrological Survey Works for Engineering
Services for Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) East-West Line Project (Phase 1)
covers :
a. Chapter 1. Introduction
In Chapter 1, the background, aims, objectives, scope of work, consultant's
understanding of the work to be carried out, and the systematics of the
preliminary report are described.
b. Chapter 2. Hydrological Survey Works
In chapter 2, it is presented in detail all the procedures for carrying out primary
and secondary data surveys, data acquisition, processing and analysis. All data
are presented in a narrative manner equipped with figures and tables.
c. Chapter 3. An Overview of GIS System in the MRT Project
In chapter 2, it is presented GIS (Geographic Information System) or geographic
information system is a computer-based tool to map and analyze things that
exist and events that occur on earth. GIS technology integrates common
databases with operations such as queries and statistical analysis with unique
visualizations. GIS can also display geographical aspects as well as the
analytical benefits offered by maps.
d. Chapter 4. Study Of Probable Water Levels
In chapter 4, it is presented about the modeling process and Calibration Model
with various scenarios.
e. Chapter 5. Work Plan
In chapter 5, the implementation of the work to date and the next work plan is
presented.

At the end of this Interim Report, an appendix is presented that supports the
presentation of the Interim Report.
