Essential for Seniors: Engaging PE Class

Grade 12, as the last year to complete the 12 years of education, is most significant
and stressful period. 12th graders are very busy not only for studying, but also for
preparations for entering universities. Therefore, some schools do not offer PE class for
seniors because students might ger more stress about additional physical activities and think
that taking PE class is waste of time. However, 12th grade students should have PE class
because of their stable health both physically and mentally.

To start with, 12th graders need to have good physical strength so that they don’t get
tired well when they are studying. Studying requires not only brains but also body’s stamina,
and the students can get that basic stamina through PE class offered at school. If they don’t
do PE, they will need to do some exercises on their own to keep themselves healthy. That
could be another waste of time. Also, when they take PE class, they are half-forced to
participate in outdoor activities and move their body, so it brings good effects to students.

Nevertheless, PE class might poses some challenges to senior students. 12th grade
students are already stressed because of their grades and large amount of study and
exhausted days. So when they exercise, they may become drowsy and waste more time
trying and working hard to break the sleepiness from exercises. In addition, some students
may argue that basic stamina could be maintained by drinking energy drink or eating healthy
food. So they conclude that PE class is not required for seniors who need whole time to
study.

In conclusion, seniors should take PE class because their bodies require enough
physical and mental health. PE class provides them basic stamina and makes students not
needed to do additional exercises. PE class sometimes makes students more stressful and
tired. However, if they develop their physical strength through PE, their sleepiness would get
better and it would benefit the 12th grade students.
