Lesson 3
Flexibility in Learning
A. Objectives:
At the end of this unit, you should be able to:
1. Identify and distinguish the principles of flexibility and learning
2. Articulate the implications of these principles to learning
Application/Assessment:
In this generation, we are living in a digital world. Online learning are making our living
much lighter. Students have different status in life. Some students might have the
capacity to have an internet or computer at their home, some don’t. Especially to those
student who are studying in public schools, some students would not be able to pass a
particular activity or homework as the reason of not having an access in internet and
computer. Some tasks are needed to have internet and computer such as in reporting,
students do a lot of research in preparing a report and computer subject, students must
have an access in computer, not only for those who have one but all student must have
an access so that all students will learn. Some of these students tend to pay in the
internet shop for how many hours just to do their task that might lead into such
problems like getting involved in computer games that most likely to lead into addiction.
While some students lack financial support that they couldn’t do their task that might
lead the student to fail in that particular subject and will cause the student to not
continue anymore his/her studies.
If these students would have an access in computer and internet, their lives would be
much easier and convenient. If the school provides computer for their students, these
students would have no reason for not passing the particular task. Instead that they will
feel discouraged, they will be motivated in their school performances, knowing that they
have access in computer for their school tasks and they will not be left behind by the
other students. What’s the use of education if there are still students ,youth, are still
being left behind? Is the school are only for those who can afford it? What about those
who cannot? Education is free for those who are willing. But few can make. Make sure
to do your part as a citizen who is dedicate and passionate to contribute in ensuring that
students can get equal access in this right. .
Assess
In traditional learning environments, students tend to act as passive audiences, while
teachers are perceived as agents of learning. How do you think we can design
technologically mediated classes that engage the students actively and interactively?
As educators, a high level of engagement should be a priority. The more students are
engaged, the more they learn, and the more they achieve. It also makes it significantly
easier to maintain your energy throughout the day.Today’s students grew up in the
digital age. We should be taking advantage of technology, rather than viewing it as a
distraction, to increase student engagement. To make sure that students are getting the
most out of every lesson, the content should be presented in a way that the work has a
clear meaning and immediate value to your students.Technology in the classroom
allows students to gain a deeper understanding of topics that interest them, collaborate
with each other, and direct their learning. We’ve created a list of some of the interesting
ways that you can incorporate technology into your classroom to increase student
engagement.
2. Challenge
So, here is the challenge for us: What creative and strategic choices should we make in
using the technology available to us so that we can design courses that are effective or
even competitive with traditional classes? This may sound subversive, but is it
possible?
We know you’ve already put endless hours into your lessons plans, tweaking and
perfecting them. Don’t feel like all that work has gone to waste! There are a bunch of
different online learning strategies to adapt your in-person lesson plans to fit the virtual
environment. It just takes a little creativity and the right tools.
Make your lessons interactive and engaging. Is one way to make online classes
more interactive. It’s a dynamic tool that allows students to follow along and participate
in your lessons on their own devices. First, you import your pre-existing lessons pdfs or
Powerpoints. You then can add in places for student interaction: written responses,
drawings, quizzes, polls, collaborate boards, and more. You can differentiate the type
and difficulty of assignments for different student needs.
Utilize screen recordings to pre-record yourself and your lessons.
For the Powerpoints you’ve already created, screen recording software like Loom or
Screencastify allows you to record your presentation on-screen as you speak and click
through your slides. It even has the option to include a little window with your face on
the screen, so your students can still see you. These videos can be downloaded or
shared via weblink.
3. Harness
Research on the different flexible learning setups of three schools or universities. How
are they alike? How are they different?

The essay is exceptional in every way. The essay is well organized, and
all claims are supported. It begins with a solid introduction that contains a
clear thesis, is followed by body paragraphs that contain clear topic

sentences with clear and detailed support and ends with an effective
conclusion. Content is thorough. There are no (or few) errors in tone,
format, mechanics, grammar, and content.
The essay is above adequate in most areas. In the areas where it is not
above adequate, it is still entirely acceptable. The majority of the essay is
clear, focused, and well detailed, but there may be a few areas requiring

further development. While it may contain a few errors in tone,
mechanics, grammar, and/or content, these errors are not significant
enough to detract from the overall point being made.
The essay is adequate in most areas but exceptional in none. The thesis is
clear although probably lacking in both control and command.
Organization may be a slight problem but can be fixed. The paragraphs

provide support but are generally underdeveloped. There may be multiple
errors in tone, format, mechanics, grammar, and content, but these errors
do not, for the most part, detract from the overall writing.
