Profile Details:

Dr P Vijaya Kalyani has been working as the principle of Padala Rama Reddi Law College,
Hyderabad Since 2006. She has done LLD post doctorate in Law, PhD in International Humanitarian
Law from Nalsar University of Law in 2004-2008, M.A in English literature, M.A in Sociology, M.Sc in
Psychology, M.A. in Political Science, MBA in Marketing and HR, M.A. in History with Distinction,
L.L.M with specialization in international law from Osmania University in 2000-2002, LL.B in 3 YDC
from Osmania University in 1997- 2000. She has an amazing 4 years of work experience in banking
sector and 22 years fabulous experience in Law education sector.

She is a member of international human rights and she is a member of ENRA- National Environment
and Research Academy. She is also a member of the editorial team of the Souvenir Committee. She
has Written a Book Review on “Precedent in Indian Law authored by Prof. A. Lakshminath, Vice
Chancellor, Chanakya National University, Patna, for Kare Law Journal Issue in 2005. She is Co-
authored a book on Dishonour of Cheques – Judicial Trends. She has participated and given her
presentations in many national and the international seminars conducted by the various government
ministries and Universities.

1.You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

I have persistent Passion for knowledge enhancement and belief that knowledge through

education alone can transform people and remove darkness of ignorance and provide for a

better society. Education paves path of positivity and humanity and it enlightens civilizations

for better living. India has developed in many spheres with the help of expertise in technical

aspects, medical domains and legal domains only with the help of education. The most

beautiful aspect of legal education is that it can be blended perfectly with other disciplines to

create a new understanding and solving problems.


2. What is your vision for this college?

The college is like a temple to me as I got my basic education here and learnt many facets of

Law with an excellent intellectually oriented Management leading us. Under the able

leadership of our Honble Secretary Sri P.Srinivasa Reddy Sir, we are envisaging the mission

of excellence in the field of legal education. We are the first Private Law College in the

region of Telangana and forayed into this field of building Legal Practitioners, Judges and

Legal Professionals since 35 years from the year 1988. Most of our students are well

renowned Advocates, High Court Judges, and administrators, Academicians. Our vision for

the college is persistent excellence in dissemination of knowledge keeping track of the latest

requirements in technology for speedy and flexible platforms. We have strong and

established online mode of teaching tools and abilities and utilise it during the required times.

We have our own Legal Research Cell established by our PRR Educational Secretary Sri

P.Srinivasa Reddy Who has written published and edited around 120 books in various facets

of Law along with our Founder Sri Padala Rama Reddi Sir. We have our College Magazine

and encourage students to write articles and case studies to develop their writing skills. We

also have our Legal Aid Centre where we have students trying to find solutions to problems

of people by organizing legal aid camps at villages. We also opened our Eco Centre where

we will be undertaking environment protection and awareness related activities. Our students

are our ambassadors and their success is our goal. Our Teachers are mostly Doctorates and

Persistent researchers who continue to explore the areas of research in law so that the

students may be benefitted in the best possible ways and the institute progresses in doing its

yeomen services to the society.

3. How do you plan to lead the institution towards achieving its academic and administrative

goals?
The Institute runs with the motivation induced at every needed hour by our Management and

great transformational leadership of our Secretary Sir helps us in finding passion in every

facet of knowledge orientation and also managing the institute by providing excellent

services to the student’s whole heartedly. We have initiated various students’ centred

activities such as Moot courts, Client counselling competitions, Model United Nations and

various Essay writing, Debates and Elocution Competitions.

4. How does the law college ensure continuous improvement in its programs and curriculum

to stay relevant in the rapidly evolving legal landscape?

The College has strong establishment of technology surge to be used such as online classes

and Power point presentations whenever required. The Faculty are trained under the guidance

of the Management for updating their skills from time to time. The college plans to evolve an

ADR Centre for peaceful settlement of disputes and its awareness among the people. The

Institute also connects to various agencies and authorities for providing law internship to our

students and also have a placement cell.

5. How does the law college encourage student involvement in moot court competitions, legal

clinics, and other practical learning opportunities?

The students are given moot court problems and competitions are organized from times to

time so that learning happens with the ability to prove their respective self. Prior to the

competitions, the students are trained by respective Faculty Members as to preparation of the

Moot memorials etc. The students organize legal aid camps and spread legal awareness in the

rural areas. Our students are active legal aid volunteers at court also. Our students acquired

Great Internships and bringing laurels to the college.


6. In what ways does the college support student who may face financial challenges in

pursuing legal education?

Our Management believes in humanist approach and we are fortunate to have our Respected

Secretary Sir, who is helping many Law students in achieving their goals identifying their

merit. We provide merit scholarships every year and also provide Gold Medals in our Mini

Convocation.

7. How do you encourage faculty development and support research initiatives within the

college?

The College organises from time to time Faculty Development Programmes and also involves

Training sessions in different spheres of Emerging Laws such as International Trade Law,

International Commercial Arbitration, Environmental Law, Intellectual Property Law, Cyber

law, Health Law. Most of our Faculty members are doctorates and the others are pursuing

doctorates. They have contributed significantly to the academia via their articles in various

academic platforms such as seminars, International Conferences and Workshops.

8. What career options can a student choose after doing this course?

A Student can become an Advocate, Judicial officer, Researcher, Academician, Solicitor,

Legal Officer, Arbitrator, Mediator or Conciliator and also can become an excellent Civil

servant or Administrative Authority as Law has knowledge of many important aspects highly

relevant for the persons development at all phases of life.

9. Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

India is emerging as one of the most phenomenal countries in the world which may be a great

international force in the future. It will have more youth in the near future. Lawyers are

considered to be social Engineers and I believe that if we have very strong group of
individuals who are well versed in law and its complexities, India can shine with its glory

because in future Legal knowledge is going to play a very dominant role in building new

structured societies with dynamic fervour towards service to the society with humanist

values.
