What are your goals upon

completing the program?

I believe the tools provided by the SANS Institute are crucial for achieving my goals and
making a significant impact on the cybersecurity scene in Mexico. It is disheartening that
Mexico has one of the highest rates of cybercrime in Latin America, and unfortunately,
cybersecurity is often overlooked from a technical perspective in my country. However, this
situation also presents a remarkable opportunity to truly make a difference and educate others on
this subject.
My passion for cybersecurity has been growing steadily, and as part of that passion, I
have extensively researched institutes that offer relevant education. Many other universities'
programs do not focus exclusively on cybersecurity; instead, their syllabi are filled with subjects
that may not be as essential to this field of expertise, merely aiming to fill a four-year time frame.
In contrast, the SANS Institute places a priority on assembling the best faculty to provide
strategies and tools for tackling real-life problems that cybersecurity professionals frequently
encounter.

What about a career in cybersecurity do you find interesting?

I have always been proactive, curious, and insatiable, with a love for constant learning
and new challenges. The characteristics that define me fully align with a career in cybersecurity,
as it necessitates the acquisition of new skills and knowledge on a regular basis. The most
rewarding areas of the field, in my opinion, are security and risk management, as well as incident
response. These areas demand the creation of new security strategies, the ability to handle
stressful situations, and a talent for problem-solving.
Furthermore, cloud security captivates my interest, and I am presently pursuing
certification by AWS as a Solutions Architect Associate. By specializing in cloud security, I
would be able to deepen my knowledge and expertise in this field, expanding my horizons even
further.

Describe any extracurricular activities or involvements you enjoy, including but not limited
to activities/clubs you enjoyed in college or high school. We are particularly interested in
any information security or cybersecurity related activities you have pursued.

I have actively participated in numerous cybersecurity-related activities. In late 2022, I

successfully completed Trend Micro's Certification Program in IT Security (CPITS), where I
obtained certifications in Deep Security and Apex One, focusing on server and endpoint
protection. This program not only enhanced my technical expertise but also allowed me to refine
my soft skills and teamwork abilities.
Furthermore, I hold the CC entry-level Certification issued by (ISC)², demonstrating my
commitment to advancing my knowledge and skills in the field. During my free time, I immerse
myself in learning OSINT techniques and actively engage with the Hack the Box community to
sharpen my cybersecurity capabilities. Additionally, I have developed a strong familiarity with
the Linux operating system, which has further strengthened my technical proficiency.
 Outside the realm of cybersecurity, I find joy in playing the piano, embarking on hiking
trips, and practicing mindfulness to maintain a balanced and well-rounded lifestyle.
