ALL QUESTION TYPES IN SPEAKING PART 3

TYPE 1 ➡️ REASONS/CAUSES

Different forms ↙️ Specific language ↙️

• Why do people do that ? • The main reason for that is actually...
• What are the reasons that people... • The reason why people do it is...
• There might be quite a few reasons for that.
One of which is...
1. Why do some people keep changing their jobs?
There might be quite a few reasons for that.
One of which is that they may be looking for a bigger paycheck/salary. The amount of money that
they get from their workplace may not be sufficient enough to survive or succeed, so they may be
prone to keep changing their jobs.
The second main reason could be the unpleasant work environment in which there are some toxic
colleagues. You know, even if you have a well-paid job, you may decide to leave a job just because of
some toxic and unsupportive people working there.

TYPE 2 ➡️ ADVANTAGES/DISADVANTAGES

Different forms ↙️ Specific language ↙️

• What are the advantages of something...? • The first advantage is...
• What are disadvantages of something.. ? • The second advantage is that..
2. Are there any disadvantages to changing jobs repeatedly?
Yeah, sure.
I suppose frequent job changes can prevent people from professional growth/development.
Employees who work in one workplace and in one field for an extended period of time tend to be
more professional than ones who keep changing their jobs repeatedly.
The second disadvantage would be that it can cause psychological problems. What I mean by that is
when you cannot work in one position for so long enough, you may feel incompetent and even feel
you are incapable of working in one job for a long time.
TYPE 3 ➡️ AGREE OR DISAGREE

Different forms ↙️ Specific language ↙️

...., do you agree ?
• I’d agree to some extent
• Absolutely yes
• of course not
• I couldn't agree more

3. Some people say that sometimes hiring new employees in a company is a good idea. Do you
agree?

I'd agree to some extent.

Yeah bringing new employees just means bringing new ideas and perspectives. New staff can
introduce new ideas and approaches to work so that other employees can see and copy maybe,
which can eventually lead to productivity.
Plus, new workers can add some variety and diversity to the workplace, which I think is important
as well. This way, the workplace wouldn't be so boring.
TYPE 4 ➡️ OPINION BASED QUESTION

Different forms ↙️
• Do you think it's a good idea to do...
• Do you think something is important?
Specific language ↙️ • I assume
• I guess • I presume
• I suppose • From my point of view
• I reckon • From my perspective
• I believe

4. Do you think workplace orientation is important?

Well, even though I'm not a businessman, I believe it is exceptionally important.
Because, workplace orientation can help new employees understand their role and responsibilities
within the organization. They may then know what to do, how to do things
Also, they can get to know the mission, goals and priorities of a company. When they know what the
goal is, they can have a bigger picture, and they can work better.

TYPE 5 ➡️ COMPARE AND CONTRAST

Different forms ↙️ Specific language ↙️
• Which one is more important? • It’s better to do...
• Which one is better to do ?
5. Is it better to work in a large company than to work in a small one
I guess it's better to work in a large company because of "stability". Usually people working in large
organisations tend to work longer without any fear of losing their job because of their mutual
contract.
What's more, there are career growth or career prospects in a large company. I'm sure there will be
exceptional people working there from whom we can learn a lot.

• Flexibility in a small company

• Closer relationship in a small company

TYPE 6 ➡️ HYPOTHETICAL

Different forms ↙️ Specific language ↙️

Would do you agree/do something? • If possible, I would do
If you had a chance, would you.. • Given the chance, I'd do...
• If I had an opportunity, I would do..
• No I don't think I'd do...
6. Would you agree that social changes should happen gradually?
I'd agree to some degree.
Because, I know and I understand, slow, steady progress would allow people to adjust to new norms
or situations, which is good.
However, rapid changes should take place when there is unfairness such as discrimination or
inequality.

TYPE 7 ➡️ SUGGESTING A SOLUTION TO A PROBLEM

Different forms ↙️ Specific language ↙️

• What can governments do to improve... • There might be quite a few ways to do that.
• How can parents help kids.... One of which is.....
The other solution would be..

7. How can parents help their kids to socialise well ?

There are a few possible ways to do that.
One of them is parents should encourage their kids to actively participate in groups activities such as
sports, clubs, competitions. Then kids will get rid of their shyness and become more sociable over
time.
Another possible way is to lead by example. Parents can model positive social behaviours so that
kids can see them talking to people, strangers enjoyably. Then kids will get the idea that it's perfectly
okay to talk and socialise with others.
TYPE 8 ➡️ FUTURE POSSIBLE SCENARIO
Different forms ↙️ Specific language ↙️
How do you think something will be different • I expect something will be different
in the future? • I predict something will change
• I don't think it's going to be the case
• I imagine something will increase its
dominance even further
• There is a chance
• There is a possibility/probability/likehood
that...
• It's highly likely that...
• It's unlikely that...

8. What do you think what kinds of small companies/businesses will be popular in the future?
Well, I expect companies which provide personalised and on-demand services will be more popular
than other types of businesses. Coz, people will be looking for the convenience, they would like to be
served in no time.
On top of that, companies that provide eco-friendly and sustainable products will likely to be more
dominant among companies. Because, I believe people in the future will understand that they and
companies should be environmentally friendly to save our planet.
