QA QC Report 3 Steel Cleaning and Painting
Facts:
The reinforced that was erected was kept outside in the weather for a long time.
Rain and air moisture caused the mill-scale coating to be washed away, resulting in mild rusting.
There was little corrosion in most of the exposed rebar.

Size of the Rebars, mm (various): Dia 10, 12, 16, 20, 25 and 32
Field Inspections and Verifications:
The site inspector always stops by to check the site and gives the constrictor instructions to
clean up any rust.
After thorough cleaning, a zinc-rich primer coating is applied to all exposed rebar.
It is strictly forbidden from reducing the rebar diameter. In these situations, new rebar needs to
be lapped or replaced.
Instruction to Contractor: The Contractor was advised to protect all exposed rebar from rusting.
Engineer issued series of site instruction in this respect.
Conclusion: Every rusty rebar was thoroughly cleaned and covered with the approved zinch
rich material. Therefore, we can confirm that the painted rebar's strength remains unchanged.
