Interpreting your BARBRI score

Congratulations on completing the BARBRI Simulated Exam. This exam has the same overall topic coverage and question format as the actual
MBE, so you can use your results to fine-tune your MBE preparation strategy in the final weeks before the exam. A few words on interpreting
your score. First, don't worry if your score on this exam was not as high as you had hoped. On the actual MBE, the National Conference of Bar
Examiners adds points to your raw score (the actual number correct) to determine your scaled score, which is the score states use in computing
the overall passing score. Further, consistent data over the years has shown that most students raise their raw score substantially - on average
over 20 points - from this exam to the actual MBE. Instead of focusing on your score, you should focus on your percentile ranking for the overall
exam and each topic. If your percentile ranking for a few subjects or topic areas was substantially lower than the others, work through additional
questions in those subjects or topic areas in the MCQ Practice Bank. If your overall ranking was low, consider taking another practice exam on
your own under timed conditions. This will improve your test-taking skills and endurance for the actual exam. Most importantly, remember that
there is still time between now and the actual exam. Keep working practice questions, focusing on the explanatory answers. Keep reviewing your
outlines and keep a good attitude. Studying for the bar is a marathon, not a sprint. You are well on your way to the finish line.
