ART INTEGRATED PROJECT
CLASS – III
STATE: MEGHALAYA
Art – Integrated Learning(AIL) is a Pedagogical Tool. It is introduced
by CBSE for imbibing the Indian ethos through integration of Indian art and
culture in the teaching and learning process at every level. This art –
integrated approach will strengthen the linkages between education and
culture.

This project is defined under “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Programme.”

Cultural richness includes diversity in anything that has to do with how


people live: music, art, recreation, religion or beliefs, languages, dress,
traditions, stories, folklore and festivals.

Our nation, India is considered to one such country where cultural diversity
is in no shortage. Out of the many states of our country, there is a small
State in the North-Eastern part of India- MEGHALAYA.

Meghalaya a small State in the North-Eastern part of India is where you'll


find more than just thunderclouds and a vast green landscape. Its people
are the soul, and its song and dance the vital source of joy. These ancient
people have perfected the art of life and are being passed on to its young. In
Modern times though the people are engaged in secondary and tertiary
activities, the festivals are always celebrated with great splendor and joy.

Collect pictures of food, traditional dress and the occupation of the people of
Meghalaya and paste them in a scrapbook.

DANCE

Meghalaya is a hilly state in the Northeastern part of India. Meghalaya means


“Abode of Clouds”. It is a beautiful state which is rich in its culture, tradition,
dress and language. Meghalaya is a state, which has variety of dance forms.
The state organizes very famous “Nongkrem Dance Festival” every year, to
promote the importance
of its rich culture and
heritage.

MUSIC

Meghalaya is a state of India with a rich folk tradition. Drums, bamboo flutes
and small hand-held cymbals are popular ensembles.

Materials required- A3 size white sheet, pencil, ruler and wax crayons.

Steps:

 Make a beautiful border on the sheet.


 Draw a sketch of Meghalaya landscape.
 Colour the landscape by using wax crayons.
 Write your name & class at the back of the sheet.

Note: Kindly use wax crayons instead of oil colours.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Meghalaya is famous for sports and games. Archery is one of the famous
games for the people of Meghalaya .Archery known as Teer, is a
prominent sports of Meghalaya. It is one of the important parts of the
culture of the Meghalaya local people.

 Prepare a project on archery (introduction, equipments, arena,


personalities etc.)
 The work can be done in a scrap book or A4 sheets.
