Symptom

• A PERNR has been incorrectly assigned to an existing CP ID resulting in two PERNRs occupying the
same CP ID
• A PERNR has been assigned to multiple CP IDs when it should only be assigned to one

Environment

• Human Capital Management (HCM)

• SAP R/3
• SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7
• SAP ERP Core Component
• SAP ERP
• SAP enhancement package for SAP ERP
• SAP enhancement package for SAP ERP, version for SAP HANA

Cause

This scenario cannot happen in the standard system as the CP ID is only ever assigned automatically at the
time of hiring. This issue may occur due to incorrect customization of the number range, or a non-standard
hiring process.

Resolution

Firstly it is necessary to establish which PERNR should be assigned to which CP ID. This is something that
needs to be done on the customer's side. The following steps can be carried out to delete the relationships
between the PERNR and the Central Person object.

1. ENABLE MAINTENANCE OF IT0709:

• Go to SM30, enter T777E
• Select Relationship 209
• In the "Dialog Structure" section on left side of the screen, double click “Allowed Relationships”
• For both entries (CP and P), uncheck the checkbox “Not maint.”
• Once this checkbox is unchecked, the maintenance in PP01 and PA30 will be possible.
2. DELETE IT0709
• Go to PP01, enter the relevant CP ID
• Select "Relationships" infotype, click overview
• Delete the relationship to the relevant person.
• Go to PA30
